I started my new life style yesterday,

I juiced & I'm going to see if I can lose weight by just living on juicing.

I got to get myself to exercise but it's hard to motivate myself to do it.

Today I juiced but about an hour ago I was hungry so I ate some spoonful of peanut butter. 

It helped. If I don't lose some weight by the first month of next year I promised my Doctor that I'll

have surgery. Wish my luck guys. :-}

Hi Don. Congratulations on your decision to change your life. What's important is that if you fall off track and eat a pizza, don't stay off track.  Get right back on!  Drink lots of water. Avoid alcohol.  You mentioned exercise and I recommend Hot Yoga.  Just the words "Hot Yoga" sound intimidating to some, but it is a very detoxifying choice when weight loss is a goal.  Even if you don't raise an arm or move a leg, just being in the heat will cause profuse sweating and detox. Never start without clearance from your doctor.  Take a beginner class with a helpful instructor.  There is a man at my yoga studio who once weighed over 350 pounds and is now at 185 pounds.  Determination, focus and a strong will to change.  I will be cheering for you.  Lauren

I was craving pizza today. I was just laying in bed debating over & over again if I should eat a pizza, I didn't. I feel good about myself that I didn't give into my cravings.

I had for breakfast a juice, lunch I had a half of bag of green seedless grapes, 4 spoonful of 100% peanut butter & for dinner I had a salad. I feel tired but happy. Love to all of you for your  support. <3

Wow! Thank you all. I feel so loved. <3 I'm still on my juice fast it's going good. I'm not hungry I feel full (strangely?)

I learned never to take the pulp of the pineapple & put it in the blender with the pineapple juice that you just juiced to make a pineapple smoothie. It was like a sugar rush. Lol

I never heard of Philip McCluskey but I'll look him up.

I feel some loved that people really care. I need to get myself to motivated to workout.

I weigh 433lb I'll weigh myself friday to see if I lost any.

Hi Don,

Have you come across Philip McCluskey?  If not I think you might find his website useful (in fact he may even be a member here).  If I remember correctly, he came close to surgery, before trying one last approach – a raw food lifestyle – and healed many health issues, including a weight problem.  I vaguely remember watching his progress on YouTube.

You have received plenty of good advice, Don.  I am routin for your great success!

Please reconsider the time frame you have placed on yourself considering the surgery.  I would like to add that I have known a few people that have had stomach surgeries.  They are not all the same techniques but each person I know ended up with the same results.  They couldn't stick with the guide lines and each one of them ended up gaining all their lost weight back plus more. 

The one thing they all had in common was emotional eating.  Not one of them got their emotional relationship with foods straightened out in therapy or for themselves before surgery.  It proved to me that these surgeries are not the end all struggle or total answer to weight gain. 

It has pained me to see friends and one family member suffer through the surgery, suffer the side effects, and then with time and a return to overeating; all end up bigger than before they had their surgery of choice.  I know there are success stories out there but non of them are people I personally know.

We are all with you Don!! You can do this. Make you some positive mantras to live your life by and read them morning and night.  Make it present tense like it already happen.  ie...."I look and feel great at ______# (or my ideal weight).  I am doing this for myself.  I am worth it!"  or....."I eat the right foods to help me get to my ideal weight.  I always get enough sunshine, rest, water and raw foods to look and feel my best." You probably get the idea.  I have these mantras for my personal, financial, religious and career goals too. You can do this!!
