Comment by Lee Gaines on January 21, 2013 at 12:26pm Hey Joe. From my experiences I've found that long grain brown rice does not soak up the water and soften enough to be edible.

I always soak my brown or wild rice for at least 2 hrs before cooking it. I will be trying this idea this week when I buy some wild rice. Will this work with long grain brown rice too?
