Hello Penni <3 I've decided I need to stay away from FB as it seems to be depressing to me. I know that RFR is where I need to be...even if it is "just for today"...but I'm sure I'll be in and out more often. I invested in a Hurom juicer which I LOVE and I'm continuing to make dehydrator bread/crackers with the tons of pulp I have in my freezer. I'm not losing any weight and I'm beginning to feel an urge to get checked for thyroid problems. With all my bike riding and healthy eating, I don't know why my body isn't changing. One day at a time. I think of you often Penni. Thank you for being a constant health warrior in my life. <3<3 <3 <3
Hi Penni...it is nice to join an internet social support group with those having similiar passions on their physical well being. Thanks for the friend invite. I will be starting a seven day juice fast tomorrow (Monday). With regards to fasting, several sources that I have read indicated the criticality of taking enemas during the fast to aid elimination of toxins. One book in particular (Back to Eden) recommends four quart enemas during the fasting process. Silly question, but is the colon even able to hold four quarts of water? Several sources say yes, but was just curious on your thoughts. Thanks for any guidance that you can provide and I hope your day is going well. Steve
I eat one cooked meal a day to keep my weight up because the last time I went raw vegan for a year and lost too much weight. Not the fault of the lifestyle, but I was/am too busy to get enough calories from 100% raw. Brown rice/mixed grain or legume is my one meal. That's it; no oil, salt, or anything; pure and simple. The rest of the day is fresh juices, smoothies, fruit on the run. I found a product at Whole Foods which is called "Raw Meal" which is a host of raw sprouted grains, green stuff, fruit that is rich in natural occurring protein, B12, and pro-biotics. It's a raw product, and I going to give it a test drive for calories on the run. I went to a "Vegan" forum, but was disappointed with some of the stuff they were into. Margarine, microwaves, etc. I'm okay with this, but raw forum has a different vibration. I define myself nutritionally as a raw foodist who has one cooked meal a day, instead of a vegan who eats mostly raw. I've lost a little weight, but it's not missed. Thank you for this website, it's appreciated.
Thank you Penni, I am SO new to any type of site like this! I don't understand Facebook, Twitter etc. Please be patient with me and thank you for welcoming me! Is it appropriate to obtain someones email to talk privately? I'm in CA and a nurse, where are you and do you work?
Yes, that,s the one. She is just closing the forum, too many spammers. Welikeitraw closed awhile back now, so there are few forum retreats left. It looks lovely here, I will get your cleanse book soon, I,ve been meaning to for ages now. One door closes, a new one opens :)
Thanks Penni, I used to be a fan of yours when you were on Raw Fu, it was never the same after you left. I,m so happy to be here, now rawfoodtalk is closing. Thanks for letting me stay :)
To add to my already long question. I mentioned the asthma as since I took the Prednisone I have been very quick to start wheezing even with little acrivity.
Good Morning Penny, I have a question for you. As an infant I had severe asthma. It doesn't bother me much now until recently. About 3wks ago I finished a 7 day course of Amoxicillan and on the 7th day had a severe skin reaction to the drug...hives everywhere. I was given 5 days of Prednisone. I have finished them and am still super itchy and having hive breakouts. Wondering about a food allergy, or doing a liver cleanse. Also, you should know I lost my mom 2 yrs ago to an auto-immune disease called Primary Bilary Sirosis of the Liver. Thanks for your help!
There are big changes going on in my life. I feel so lucky to have found this group and site. I'm on it! and inspired to get moving in all the right directions! Niece's birthday party at Horses for Hope today, gotta run. Have a great day! :-)
