My favorite go-to green juice is; 1 bunch of kale, 2 heads of celery, 3 cucumbers, 3 green apples, 3 gala apples, 1 small bunch of romaine, 1- 2 lemons, large chunk of ginger root and 1 - 2 habaneros. This amount makes 3 - 32oz jars.
And kudos to you for pursuing a healthier lifestyle and losing the weight.........and even more for stopping your meds. To me all meds are poison. Sometimes a necessary evil, but best avoided if at all possible.
Up here in Boulder the closest fires have been in Estes Park and one in a canyon in the southwest foothills....that one brought a lot of smoke into the city, especially the day after it started, but we are just a bit east of town, so didn't get too much smoke....just occasionally.
It's the fire down in Colorado Springs that has been so bad, as I am sure you are aware. It basically wiped out an entire subdivision....I can't imagine having to deal with that....I don't know what is worse, tornadoes or raging wild fires....both are very destructive.
So what is your most kick ass drink? A juice? Mine would be a straight green juice, with parsley, kale, dandelion, romaine, celery, cucumber. A bit of daikon radish (the radish that looks like a giant white carrot) would add even more kick. When I first started all this, I wouldn't have been able to down an extreme green juice, but now a days, while it's not my favorite, it's no big deal.
Hey Matt, I am fine. I am not someone with a lot of weight to lose...20 lbs is what I am dealing with....and I don't have any major health issues...candida being my only issue, but I've dealt with it for so many years, we're old frenemies.
Thanks for asking....and how are you? And thanks for being a friend.
I like what you wrote about your sons. You are their hero and their role model and they are watching you and a whole lot of other people are too. I am a big believer in mentoring the next generation. That is my two grandsons in my picture and I love them so much that I want to be the best I can be for them and to lead them in health and wholeness.
Thanks for adding me as a friend, Matt. This is one of my favorite combinations for making a green smoothie. Blend: Two oranges, huge handful of baby spinach, liquid Stevia to taste for sweetness, ½ teaspoon vanilla if you like, almond milk for my liquid and flavor. If you don’t use Stevia, use what you enjoy. Add ice or serve over ice. Enjoy! It reminds me of the sugary Orange Julius my children would buy out at the Mall. Maybe your boys will like this version too. Have a great day : )
