Raw Food Rehab

Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!

Hi Everyone

I am new here and have been desiring to start eating raw. But for the past month or so I sit and read and read up and read some more, and end up confused as to where to start with my eating raw. I am vegan , but seem so confused and clueless as to how to go about eating raw on a daily basis.

Please help.

Do I make a meal plan? Do I buy a book with recipes first? I see a lot of pictures on this wonderful site with juices and foods but how do you decide what to eat and when? Do you have a set number of meals a day or just eat when hungry or what? And how do you know you are making the right combination to meet your daly requirements? Maybe I am going about this the wrong way, please enlighten me.

Please help me I am eager and confused. Thank you for your time taken to read this. God bless you all.

Try a fruit meal, such as breakfast; just eat fresh, whole fruit.  Eat until you are full.

Then when you are comfortable with that, you can do the same for lunch.  A  big salad for supper.  :-)  Don't forget, exercise, sun and sleep.

You can keep things simple and just try recipes once in a while.

You can check your nutrients with a site such as cronometer dot com.  Remember that when not eating meat, less calcium is necessary.

doesn't sound like a lot to change up for you, being a vegan already and all.

so, as the inclination goes with you, start adding some things that are raw.. in whatever way that works for you...

like raw breakfast only... or raw  breakfast and lunch, and cooked supper.

and figuring out what raw to do ...

hmmmm..

if you have a blender, smoothies usually are a great transition food; if no blender, I'd probably be going the way of salads...

depends on your style of course, if you like preparing dishes, sauces, dips (great for raw veggies) then may be just get that going, prepping foods to have on hand for you.

getting the confusion and too much information out of the equation sounds like where to start

do what you currently do... do you currently make meal plans; do you like trying new recipes..

look at what you'd like to do...

are you going for 50% raw, 75% raw?

break that down and go from there.

or look for a coach to get yourself through the transition..

best to you Lee.
