Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!
Tomorrow I begin my twelve-week challenge. I am combining weight lifting, aerobic activity and mostly raw food to completely change my body. I have already participated in a couple of the groups on the raw food rehab and have lost 30 pounds. I have now set a goal of losing my remaining weight and finishing the transformation to a style of life/eating that I want to keep for the rest of my life. Today I prepare for that challenge by readying myself for tomorrow, day one.

here I am on March 16, day 10. I had computer and internet issues, and I found it was really tough for me to post my food every day. I started keeping a journal of what I'm eating and it helps. The hardest thing for me has not been raw food or exercising. The hardest thing for me has been finding a job and my car died. However, I have had friends to either give me rides, offer the use of an extra car, etc., until I find another job. I am so fortunate to have such great people in my life. I am really happy with the fact that during this time of challenging opportunities, I have been able to maintain my healthy lifestyle and not fallen into the rut of eating poorly, which is so easy to do in this kind of situation.
Comment by Elizabeth Bishop on March 7, 2012 at 8:07am Second half of Day 1:
Water: Drank all my water.
Food: Craved cooked food and carbohydrates.
The thing I noticed is that when I started the day out with a whole food meal rather than a raw food meal, I craved carbohydrates and other cooked food. I woke up with a headache and sinuses. So, today I started my morning out with a green smoothie and I'll see if I crave things throughout the day or not. It's fun for me to be keeping track of things like this - no matter how simple or detailed.
Comment by Elizabeth Bishop on March 6, 2012 at 8:56am Day 1:Each day I will track my food, water, exercise, and spirituality, and I will add other categories most likely as I go along. There are things beside weight loss that I want to improve or achieve. There are so many changes happening in my life right now. My daughter was accepted into her dream college and even with the scholarships and her working this summer, we still need to attract a significant amount of money for her to attend. I am still trying to find a job that I love and that pays well. I must find a place to live by the end of May. It's all very exciting and scary at the same time.
Beginning weight: 209 lbs.
Morning food: whole food meal
Exercise: 4:45 a.m. weight lifting for 45 minutes
Spirituality: Meditate ten minutes. Form wording for prayer.
