Raw Food Rehab

Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!

Hi everyone. I have not written in some time as we have been so busy in our travels. Last time I wrote we were on our way to Thailand. To catch up on our travel blog and photos you can check out our travel blog (link on my page). But so far we have been to France, Italy, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand (Island), Bali.

We have had some amazing and crazy times. The fruits have been amazing! I have not been able to eat as high raw as I would have liked to, but we did pretty good. A smoothie every day and a huge juice.

It is hard in S.E. Asia to eat a lot of raw foods as it is kind of sketchy. We did figure out a good way to clean our produce though. We make a solution of vinegar water (1:3) and would soak the produce in that and then rinse with water that had been boiled. I say we, but it was really my amazing husband who did most of the prep. We had a juicer and hand blender with us so it was easy. I covered this gear in a past post.

Now we are home for a  month since the only way to get to Ecuador is through LAX, so we decided to add wonderful Ojai to our itinerary. It is so wonderful to be home after traveling for 7 months. We will be in Ecuador for the Raw Food Gathering and staying for a total of 1 month then heading back home.

Now I am home doing a parasite cleanse and will be part of the Fresh Initiative. Very excited as it is sooooo much easier to eat clean at home. I will also be getting some colonics, an enema bag, my hair cut fixed (I got the worse haircut ever in Thailand), going to the natural dentist, getting some blood testing and celebrating my big 30! Busy month. So excited to see all of my friends as well. So that's it in a nutshell.

Hope you are all doing well and enjoying your celery and kale, most of the world does not get to enjoy those delights :)

@Wendy, yes it does take some time to get our bearings, but one of the first things we do once we are in our place is head to the local market and stock up on produce and fruit. It was different in each place we were in. But in general amazing fruit was so easy to find.

As someone who hasn't traveled a lot, I would assume, when you arrive at a new place, it takes a bit of time to get comfortable, get your bearings, and start to get resourceful when it comes to finding good food. For the two of you, do you arrive somewhere immediately start finding food and supplies, or do you eat more accessible food for a day or so and then start looking for better food?
