Thank You Penni: Green Smoothies + Bikram Yoga + No Complaining Rule

Before we started our 11  week journey together I spent a wonderful week at TheLifeCo retreat in Bodrum, Turkey, on a juice fast and lost at least nine pounds. Having weighed into the Weight Room this morning I have actually gained back one of those nine pounds in the last two weeks. But it's all good and part of a longer term strategy for greater health and happiness. Okay, and I feel thinner (which definitely helps).

I've been eating a diet of quite dense raw foods (let's call it transitional) during these last two weeks. Lots of delicious dehydrated foods, nuts and dried fruit, raw cookies, etc. Yum. This coming week I'm happy for there to be more of the same but I'm introducing a commitment to green smoothies and fruit before 12.

I'm also back at Bikram Hot Yoga and aiming to go every other day. So far I've done two classes and I ♥ love ♥  the way they make me feel afterwards. It's a wonderful way to deal with the stresses of the working day and ensure a great night's rest.

Finally, since Penni introduced us to her 20 TIPS FOR A POSITIVE 2011 by Jon Gordon (with a Penni touch) I've been reading John Gordon's inspiring book The No Complaining Rule. It's already given me so many great ideas for work and at home: today I've started a no complaining fast.

I'm looking forward to seeing what impact these three additions have on my life this week.

@Penni...what's not to get? Health? A sense of well-being? I think those that really want to succeed, get it. And having your's and Susan's unconditional guidance makes it easy to get. I also love the videos which are like having a personal trainer. I learn here every day...

Thank you for sharing this, Antony!  I have had a few letters lately that have suggested that I'm "not being real" when I have shared my vision and focus for 2011 - encouraging myself and others to keep things elevated and to make every effort to focus on the positives we are achieving as opposed to steeping our thoughts and words in the negatives and on what is not working.  It is so nice to know that you (and many others) really do "get it" and understand that our words and attitude is what can give us the cutting edge - no matter what we are trying to accomplish.  Thank you for always being such a bright light here!  Much love to you!

Great post Antony! I need that book! I bet many of us could benefit from a "no complaining fast!!!" I am also lacking in exercise.  I just got a yoga dvd (I have not done yoga before) and hope to try it out this weekend. Green smoothies are as common to my day as brushing my teeth now. Green gold! I bet you will see a great impact from them this week! Have a wonderful week Antony.

I can relate to the transitional food. I made a commitment to myself (hate the term new years resolution) that I would incorporate one green juice, one green salad and one green smoothie into my diet everyday.  I call it the 3G's.  I have, for the most part, done this each day.  Some days I find it harder than others.  Itseems to have either switched my focus away from the heavier foods or maybe by incorporating all those greens I don't crave the heavier ones or maybe it is just I am too full after making it a point to have all of those greens :) 

I love the no complaining fast also :)
