Raw Food Rehab

Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!

I just wanted to write to say that I am not making any progress eating raw.  I haven't felt like doing much of anything.  Any suggestions on how to change my mood?

I forgot to tell you that it helps me to speak a truth and a non truth to see what each feels like and to make sure that I am not trying to force the answer that I want. True statement "My name is Devona" and I hold strong, false statement "My name is John, Sue, or whatever name you want to use" and my finger goes down easily. If I am testing myself on several things and I am not positive that I am not trying too hard to get the answer that I want I will stop and do my true and false statements again and then resume testing.

Sorry about that, didn't mean to break a rule! Let me try this again. I googled "muscle testing finger method" and clicked on a link about learning self muscle testing, it happened to be the first one that popped up on my search. Other than that, there are probably books that you could look up about it as well. Hope this helps!

just want to remind everyone about our Community Ground Rules and linking - if you haven't read them, please do - this way we're all on the same page. Thanks!!!

I am putting a link about muscle testing at the bottom so that you read up on it. I use the finger over finger method but a couple of my friends have very different ways of muscle testing themselves. You can google it and read about many different ways to test yourself. We are all different and I encourage you to try several ways of testing to find out which one or ones work best for you. As you play around with them you will learn different tricks. I have learned that I have to use my left hand, since my right hand is dominate and therefore not reliable. I love muscle testing! Have fun with it!

I would LOVE to learn more about muscle testing! Do you have any suggestions about where I can get information?

All of the comments are wonderful! What has helped me is eating a lot of fruit until about 12 or 1. Have you tried muscle testing yourself to see what foods your body is really in need of right now and what foods you should really be avoiding right now? I know that when I learned about muscle testing myself on specific foods it changed my life! I did not know that eating broccoli would trigger over eating and cause a fog to settle over my brain. Or that eating grapefruit would make me feel amazing. What I needed to avoid 3-6 months ago is very different to what I need to avoid today. I have much less foods that I need to avoid now than I did when I first started testing myself. After you begin testing yourself on a regular basis, sometimes every day in the beginning, you will begin to just be able to feel certain foods pulling you towards them and others repelling you. The lady that taught me to muscle test myself told me that but I did not think that it would actually happen, but it did!  Praise the Lord! We are truly fearfully and wonderfully made!

Green juice is a great mood enhancer :-)

I'm not raw yet, but I have found that a juice made from orange, carrott and apple always perks me up!

Oh another thing I want to say..don't feel bad about any food choices you make.  Just keep making good choices too and eventually it'll all even out :)  The worst thing you can do to yourself is to beat yourself up about anything you eat--food should always just be an enjoyable experience.  Your body is going to crave healthy stuff more, the more often you eat it... and so what if things aren't 100% perfect, as long as you are happy, that's what matters.  Your mental health is just as important as your physical health and if you are suffering because you are beating yourself up over a bad choice, you are doing more damage than good by being hard on yourself.  Just take it easy and make this as enjoyable as possible.  There's no such thing as perfect.  I eat pretty high raw but only because I feel like I have to, to cure arthritis--it's pretty much my last choice besides going on a really hard core med and if I didn't have to do this, I'm not sure I would.  You can have a balance, a wonderful balance that makes YOU happy and gives you both the mental and physical satisfaction that you deserve!! :)  Hope you feel better.
