Raw Food Rehab

Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!

Hi, was wondering what types of raw food people have packed to go camping, and what worked the best for them? Also interested in how you packed them (types of containers etc)  if it is relevant.

love that gorilla sandwich idea - and not just for camping!

Gorilla Sandwiches are a big hit with everyone.  Hollow out a cucumber (remove the seeds) and fill with all kinds of stuff.  Chopped carrots, green onions, mashed avocado.  You name it.  If it can be mashed or chopped it makes a great filling.  Plus Gorilla Sandwiches are portable and can be taken on a hike.

I am going to be going to see the Medicine Wheel in Wyoming, so these suggestions will help me out as well!  I am also thinking of investing in a portable battery pack to run my Vitamix like Joe did in his documentary Fat, Sick, & Nearly Dead.  My friend is from that area and told me that good fresh produce is little or very expensive and suggested that I bring whatever food I need with me.   I plan on bringing some of the snacks from the Go Raw line.  I love their lemon and carrot cake super cookies.

Car camper here: raw macadamia nut cheese (wrapped in parchment papaer)- I eat it with apple slices, dara's hummous (packed in little tupperware) which I bring carrots, zucchini chips and endive for dipping in), kale chips, LOTS of fruit for fruit salad and raw granola to top salad with for brekkie, and various green salad ingredients.

I pack raw truffles too for when everyone is around the fire eating s'mores.

Oh, and I keep my own cooler from everyone else....

Hmmm, I just realized this is the stuff I eat at home too!! Does this mean I am in perpetual camping mode? I hope so.

Tons of fresh fruit! Lots of dehydrated snacks, fresh romaine leaves filled with lots of different things. Keep it simple.
