penni's book--question about adding water to juices

penni's book finally came in the mail!

i made one of my first juices from her book---honey dew, kiwi and grapes...it was really sweet....i've weaned myself off such strong sweet drinks, so what's the advice on diluting juices with water?--is it ok? any ideal kind of water?

looking forward to juicing everyday--that's my next step in t-raw-nsitioning more and more into this way of eating!

ps i've been juicing, but my repertoire has been limited--thinking my girls would only like their grapefruit, carrot, apple combo...but they really enjoyed today's new combination.....

really thinking more and more about victoria boutenko's wisdom---i need to rotate and get more variety in...she was referring to the types of greens we consume...but i am going to extrapolate to include fruit juices too!

Ive heard that adding spring water to juices is okay, but other waters may not be. Also, you could dilute the sugar/fruit with adding some veggies.. I have added spring water to juices before when they were too strong, but only when drinking them right away.

the first juice feastie fast, I didnt add water but the second time I did, about 1/4 to 1/2 cup to bring juice to the top of quart jar, didnt affect the taste at all as far as I could tell.

If you watched Michelle K's Foodie Friday, last week, when she did the Pulp edition.  She was using a Hurom juicer, which is what I have.  She ran a cup of water through it and drank the water and the remains of the "juice" from the juicer as a separate "juice drink."  I don't do exactly what she does but something similar.  I put about 1/2 of water through as the last step in my juicing and just let it flow into the juice/juice container as part of the juice.  It helps cleaning up easier and  I get those "good to the last drop" bits out.  Long way of saying - lots of folks add water to juices, especially when they first start of greener green juice.

I often add water to my juice when it needs a little extra volume to fill my glass jar without leaving airspace for oxidation. I use to use only distilled water but have recently started buying spring water for the added minerals. Have a blessed day, Eva : )
