Raw Food Rehab

No rigid rules, labels or dogmas.... just REAL food, for your body, mind & soul!

Hi RFR,

Well, my paxil weaning is over. My body doesn't seem to be able to function at a high level with less than 30mgs, which is a small dose. I was hoping to be free of meds but if I can't function on my job and if I'm SNAPPY with my family, what's the point. So for now, its back to 30 mgs a day.

I've had bad panic attacks the last week or so & haven't been able to work. While I'm still highly raw and vegetarian, I don't like feeling this way. It's better to be able to function and take meds than to not be able to function without them.

I thank you all for the support and love you've expressed. Live green and most importantly..... Love Jesus!!

Blessings

Hi RFR,

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I'm feeling much more 'balanced' this week.

LaTricia.... I stopped using floridated toothpaste 4 years ago when I read about it's effects.

Sheryl...... Absolutely!!! If I can be productive & functional on 30mgs I can live with that!!!

Love & Blessings to ALL!!!!

Hey, Joe.  Hate to hear that you're struggling but am glad you've made vast improvements.  I used to suffer from what they called bipolar disorder.  Praise God, I'm free from that.  He performed wonders in my spirit and mind and led me to 2 major changes that made a world of difference.  1.) Stopped using flouridated toothpaste.  2.)  Started supplementing with prolamine iodine/kelp.  Can't say this would do it all for you and its worth noting that the results just take some time to see but, you never know...  Anyhow, wishing you the best!

Hi Joe,

I don't often have time to catch many posts here, but funny that when I came over to post something I caught 2 in the last few days that I knew to respond to.  First, I've been a chiropractor for 28 years and for the most am not for prescription drugs of any kind unless needed.  That said, my son is on Paxil and it has saved the quality of his life.  I am grateful that I had an open-mind to this.

He's 30 now and started with Paxil at around 18.  Several times over the years I have helped him wean off it, and as you know, you must do this slowly.  But he does have an anxiety disorder and without Paxil he was unable to work or have quality relationships.  He only takes 30 mg but it has made a difference for him.  I will also say that years ago when I was seeking *internal* guidance as to how to help him and what was wrong with him, I was literally Divinely guided to a diagnosis and Paxil.

While many people that are on such drugs may not need them, some people do.  There is a stigma around these type of drugs but no one would tell someone not to take insulin if they were diabetic.  Yet, in spiritual and food communities, the stigma can persist regarding this.  Also in addition to the Paxil my son takes SAM-e which is a natural mood regulator and that probably helps him not have to take more of the Paxil.  Anyhoo, that's my 24 cents ;) Much Love

Life is a whole circle and to look at any of the places in your life that may be causing distress, is a good thing.

Many times, the energy of raw food actually makes it look like anxiety or might even be a source of too much energy for a nervous body.Listening to your body is key. Your brain may say raw food but your body may be saying to eat some grounding foods.

I had this myself and had to make some adjustments. We must be willing to be open to what our unique body needs. Otherwise we struggle and may not know why.

The best book written by Byron Katie is called Loving What Is. Or you can go to her website which you can find by googling.

Blessings to you too!

Hi RFR,

I was taking 100 mg. of Zoloft for over a decade until I was told I had a precancerous lesion in my colon. I was on Dr. Joel Furhman's board for a brief time seeking advice on how do deal with the lesion without resorting to having 1/2 my colon removed which I was not going to do. He told me to get off all drugs. I took 3 months to wean myself off and I am completely drug free. When things in life come at me, I sometimes use a therapeutic lamp in the morning when needed. May I suggest a very powerful practice called "The Work" by Byron Katie? It takes some work to do this but it is very powerful stuff!
