Now For The Lighter Side of Life....Grocery Shopping with Elliott (personal video)

Originally posted November 2009

Sometimes our life feels like a circus!
Soo busy....all three rings have acts going on...
...too much to take in all at once!
Make it your priority to focus on YOURSELF...you are the MAIN ACT...

This day has been full already and it is not even noon yet...
Was up early as usual and of course, Mr. Elliott is too...
We raked leaves and then left at 6:45am to go grocery shopping...
The following video is from our grocery shopping trip!

Here's what my fridge looked like when I put it all away! : )

Heads are gonna roll video!

Handling a camera and a special needs child is very challenging,
so I apologize for the quality of the video! I am good with the camera
when I am NOT chasing Elliott! Really! : )

In the video below is the music
I had playing in my head during my shopping trip!!

Those of you out there who do NOT have all the challenges I have to make a video, please take a few minutes and make a video....take us to your grocery store...show us your carts!! I showed you mine! GRINS!!!!

Sometimes LIFE is soo busy and running at break-neck speed....
The music in the following video sometimes SOUNDS like my life!! Can you relate?

It feels like we are spinning plates ...

WE NEED TO REMEMBER:

WE DO NOT HAVE TO ALWAYS KEEP ALL THE PLATES SPINNING!
How many plates we have have spinning is our choice!
Let some of them fall if you must, so that you can focus on YOU..
....the world will not come to an end if you don't do everything!

Awesome videos!! I'd video my stuff if I had a recorder . I will take photos though...Please "overlook" those "non-raw" items my hubby requires (for now)...My fridge is small - so we moved the old fridge into the garage for backup.

Elliot is amazing and I love his name! You are also amazing!! God bless you all!!

Question - exactly how many are in your family who eat raw? How long will your smoothie stay fresh in the fridge? Do you just drink on it all day long? I only make one glass full each time... How can I do better and get more greens. Also - do you always use Romaine for your smoothies or do you switch around?

Thank you so much for the videos! You two are adorable!! Big Hugs!!

My base of operations is the produce aisle. Occasionally, I go to the bean & rice aisle now that I can get organic brown rice and lentils in the regular grocery store. The only other aisle I ever visit is the one with paper goods and that stuff known as non food items. Also, how did I miss your fridge video? I had seen and enjoyed the shopping with Elliott video but not the subsequent follow up fridge video! It was awesome. I have 2 fridges now. My little apt size one and a borrowed dorm fridge from my niece. All living stuff in there! Have I mentioned how great I think you are today, because I really think you're GREAT!

Not always fun to have help shopping but it sure is a great place to teach counting, and food choices and item recognition. LOL yep been there done that.

I filled the base of my cart with bananas...didn't video that...was too busy chasing after Elliott...Since they are the heaviest...they go on the bottom....then I fill with Greens, etc..
I always get the eye from the clerks....most of them know me by now...but you should see the wide eyed look I get from a new one or people standing behind me in line! They always ask if I am making banana bread, or am I making salad for a group!! I always boast about Green Smoothies, of course! Tell my whole story in about 2 min...I talk fast! : )

Thanks for the video Susan! Great to see Elliott and the things you buy. 3 to 5 days worth? What's a typical eating day like for you?

Wow! That was quite a trip! You're right though, sometimes you don't have to keep all the plates spinning. I'm inspired by your shopping techniques. Thought you would fill that cart with romaine alone! Your son is very dear and very busy! Thanks for a fun trip to the market! : )
