Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!
3 pounds gone...not much on the scale, but I feel smaller in my middle. headache is finally gone..darn blood pressure. so proud of my brother. so when it comes to healthy eating, there is a love/hate relationship there. I don't want him morbidly obese like me so I encourage him to eat less fast food etc. baby steps. today I was preparing lunch which was banana, strawberry and blueberry salad in a bowl..I made him one and he ate it..just shocked...gonna make him one daily when I make mine hopefully it will take lol. He is a big guy, but I don't want him to suffer like I have. No one is to blame for the way I am but me. Its my addiction, but everyday is a new day. It takes all my strength not to pull in a fast food place, but I don't because I know that there is more to life than the 10 minutes of a greasy something. Well enough ramblings from me. Hope everyone has a great week!!!

Comment by Mae Jardine on January 23, 2013 at 8:43am Wanted to let you know, Amanda, I did use your fruit salad combination with an addition of shelled hemp seeds and a few raw walnuts for breakfast and it was delicious. Also sipped on a small juice size glass of my homemade vanilla almond milk. Couldn't help but think of you and your determination to stick to your goal and be a good influence on your brother. You have inspired me as well : )
Comment by Mae Jardine on January 22, 2013 at 8:05pm You are doing so well, Amanda! Your written accounts are very inspirational.
Your banana, strawberry, blueberry fruit salad sounds so good that I'm thinking I'll use it with a sprinkle of shelled hemp seeds and a few walnut pieces for breakfast tomorrow. Hope you are having a great week also : )
Comment by Janet Carol Ryan on January 22, 2013 at 4:35pm As I have travelled this good raw road for more than 2 years now, I find that the temptations have fallen away almost entirely and if I do feel tempted to eat a 'greasy something' I remember how awful that feels in my body as compared to how I feel with fresh living foods. I know that it can feel like an uphill climb - I'm glad that you are here in this wonderful community - there is so much inspiration and encouragement and so many resources for our healthy choices.
blessings to you.
