Real Food Rehab

No rigid rules, labels or dogmas.... just REAL food, for your body, mind & soul!

Hello my name is Lisa. Found RFR on facebook looking for help and Penni answered my post this morning and here i am.

Started eating raw about two weeks ago after watching a NutriBullet commercial. Since then i have lost 6 pounds, unfortunately, i started breaking out on my face and neck which i attributed to my body de-toxin. But, i am having a really bad break out on my arms and i believe that is from an old bottle of lotion i found in the back of my cabinet which i started to use a few days ago. The rest of my body is fine and i feel really good.

I want to learn as much as i can about eating raw. Hopefully i will make a good member and i do have lots to learn. Thank you Penni for accepting me as a member.

about coconut oil - if it is in a can it's probably coconut milk - a whole different thing. Coconut oil is found in glass or plastic jars - if not available where you are you can try online suppliers such as the ones linked here in RFR.

look for organic and minimally processed - i think 'cold pressed' is preferred but not essential (others feel free to chime in on this) The brand that I usually buy is Nutiva which lists these qualities:

Organic Coconut Oil Benefits:
* Certified organic and non-GMO coconut oil
* Made from fresh coconuts, not dried copra
* Cold-pressed
* Unrefined
* Chemical-free
* Unfermented *
* Unbleached
* Undeodorized
* Unhydrogenated
* Pure white like fresh coconut
* Tastes like fresh coconut
* Has a fresh coconut fragrance

Hi Janet, thank you for the warm welcome. Speaking of Coconut oil i found it at Trader Joe's but it's in a can. Does that mean it has been processed or is it ok to use....lisa

welcome - you have found your way to a wonderful community! I have had (in the past) similar skin issues - coconut oil is a brilliant ally - internally and externally. Have fun exploring the Mansion.

Hi Stephanie thank you and i am happy to be here too. Been very busy reading so many wonderful articles. Still need to learn how to make a good salad dressing though. Used to buy Thousand Island dressing.

Thank you so very much Kernowcrone.  Just googled eczema and the photos look just like my arms. I will continue and trust the process and hopefully it will go away and never return.
