Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!
I have done much thought on this subject and I think what I crave as far as
CHEESE: is actually the saltiness and the fat. I am finding that if I put sea salt in my guacamole that is satisfies both of those cravings.
CHOCHOLATE: What has helped with this is cocao nibs. Love them! Nothing can really replace that taste other than carob which I use at times as well in my avacado pudding and coconut hot choc with stevia
CHIPS: Something that is helpful is to have flax crackers made with sea salt and savory spices. However, I still have issues with overeating on this. I think possibly that dehydrated veggies might help on this issue. However, I have to wonder if it will concentrate the sugars in them and perhaps that may be a problem. Not sure
CAKE: That is a tough one. I am not supposed to have grains at all. So I am thinking the solution to this is the raw nut cheesecake but make it in extra small portions and freeze in the freezer. Like little tarts. BUT ONLY FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS!:O)
PIZZA: I am thinking I can make a flax crust and make a sauce myself that will not have anything in it I can not have. Then top with veggies and gaucamole to get the salty taste I am looking for from the cheese. I have also had some cheeses made with nut milks that were great alternatives.
Those are my main temptations so I think that about covers it. Now that I have a plan of action and a go to list of things that can substitute I think I will be more empowered and able to handle those sticky situations as long as I have my healthy alternative available to me. This may mean that I have to bring this with me so that it is available but that is okay.
Once again, preparation is so key!
