Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!
This video that I stumbled upon moved me so much that I had to go do some investigating. Akshaya U.S.A. is a not-for-profit organization that supports humanitarian efforts in Madurai, India. The founder Narayanan Krishnan, is an award winning chef who was headed to Switzerland to work in a 5-star restaurant, when his life was forever changed on the streets of his home town.
HELP FOR THE HELPLESS = Akshaya U.S.A. benefits all kinds of people with a variety of needs, such as:
Sick or mentally ill
Hungry or starving
Homeless or helpless
Elderly or disabled
Victims of rape or violence
Those filthy or needing medical care
Those deserted by families or left dying on the street
We are all human with the same basic necessities, so imagine if these people lived on your street. Don't wait until tomorrow, when you can make a difference TODAY! To learn more about Narayanan's work, visit the website http://www.akshayausa.org
Today I pray that we can see the opportunities to serve in our own communities. My Christmas wish is that I can grow to become more like Jesus and people like Narayanan.

What amazing timing Krishnan that you are here -when we open our eyes and our hearts there is always something we can do to make this world better for us all and give a hand to those who need it most.
Comment by Krishnan on July 14, 2012 at 12:54am For those of you who may be wondering if this guy is genuine, my answer is yes! I live in south India, not far from this town and have seen dozens of media reports about him (a friend wrote the first one)
. He's a wonderful person, who quit his chef's job at the Taj group of hotels (5-star) and used his own money to feed 200 mentally ill people. Gradually, people have started helping him.
Comment by Terry on December 13, 2010 at 1:14am Wow. The amazing thing is you can really see the light shining around Narayanan. I mean one look at his face and you can truly feel him. Kind of humbles me when I think I feel good dropping off my boxes of food and clothing. Then you see it in action and what these people do. They are just I dont know..Saints in modern day clothing. Wow this really hit me.
Comment by Vasa Tate on December 11, 2010 at 2:31pm Thanks for posting this, Penni. Inspiration plus. A dear mentor of mine uses the phrase, "love is always the appropriate response." A slight twist on "love is always the answer." Either way, we can all grow so much in this regard in our relationships with our selves and others known and unknown to us. It is always inspiring to see the power of one in action. Narayanan has much to teach us all. May your Christmas wish come true for you and all of us. Take care and have a blessed day.
Thanks for posting that video like that, Susan. I did not know how to do anything other than post the link to the video. With Gratitude and love...
Reminds me of another lovely soul, Jorge Muñoz. So proud to share this earth space with these heart workers!
Yes! I love this!
