I have been LFRV low fat raw vegan now for a month and it is working so well for me! I was raw several years ago for about a year and half but got so confused about all the cheesecakes and the fancy desserts which used nuts. You see I would make them and then be the only one to eat them! That's a problem- The only thing my children really liked was the berry jumble with a nut and date crust. I made it for Thanksgiving and several people put it in the microwave and put ice cream on top. OH WELL.!
Any who! The raw vegan low fat is working really well for me. I am using hemp seeds, avocados or occasionally a few tablespoons of nut butter in my sauces and dressings, and everything else is just fruit and greens for the daytime and then the huge salad with savory dressing at night. I have been eating a whole avocado everyday - I know that is a little more fat than the 80 10 10 calls for but I eat less fruit and the extra fat really keeps me satisfied for a LONG TIME!
Anyway, I am so so excited to be back on raw. I was so frustrated before with so much of the gourmet raw recipes. I love to cook and was so intrigued that you could make gorgeous desserts that way, but it TOTALLY did not work for me. Nuts just don't digest well for me at all. I was gaining weight - which is never a good thing. I just felt like raw was not for me.
But THANK GOD that I have discovered the low fat version of raw. I feel fantastic! Walking around with brain fog was my normal! Now I feel like I just had a cup of coffee and feel alert- The greens are keeping my grounded while I eat fruit and then the fat is keeping me satisfied.
So nice to feel good!
