Learned an important lesson yesterday

Yesterday I was feeling really great so I walked 3 miles instead of my usual 1 mile. I wasn't hungry at dinner so I just ate a handful of lettuce, thinking I would eat more of something later. Then I took a hot shower... and I almost passed out. I've never had that happen before in my life... I started seeing stars, lol. I'm thinking it was low blood sugar. Fortunately my son was able to pass me a cup of juice through the door and save me from passing out naked in the bathroom. That would have been embarrassing, lol. Anyway, the lesson is eat a full meal even if I'm not hungry!!

Thanks you guys, those are all good ideas and things I need to remember. But... I actually think I had a cold! LOL If so, that was the mildest cold I've ever had!! (I gotta say I love raw.) My appetite has returned to normal thankfully, after a couple days :D

I'm one of those weird people who almost never gets hungry. And when I do get hungry, it hits like a ton of bricks, like I'm starving for days! Knowing this about myself I tend to just eat on schedule to avoid issues. I've found my green smoothies having chia seeds in them *really* helps to fill me up and keep me energized for longer periods too. I bet having a tiny bit before a run, and then the rest after, would be a great way to avoid sugar drops!

Glad you didn't pass out and get hurt, Basil.  Ha!  That juice your son gave you took being prepared to a whole new arena.  So good he was there to help you.  Take Care,

hi Basil... :)

I just want to say that as time goes on you will learn which raw items stay in your system longer and which have an equalizing effect on blood sugar. I do (on rare occasions) still have some blood sugar dips but have learned how to stave off the black outs.

Best wishes for continued health and wellness........... :)
