No rigid rules, labels or dogmas.... just REAL food, for your body, mind & soul!
Greetings from Country Dancer - one of my favorite rose bushes!
Bingo - perhaps it is coincidence, and perhaps I am right, that I've been juicing something that my body is reactive to. Because after just one day of cutting back to items that very few people ever have an issue with, I have dropped 3 1/2 pounds, after three weeks of very little change.
Starting weight: 214.5
Today's weight: 196.7
Total weight loss to date: 17.8 pounds . . . excellent for just one month . . . and I am thrilled.
I interpret this weight loss primarily as a reduction of inflammation in my body, as I am well aware there is no way I could drop this much weight in fat within such a short time frame. I am down into almost my smallest jeans, and VERY pleased. I am also beginning to see changes in a spot on my back that has been disturbing me. It is just a bubbly bump sort of thing. The dermatologist told me insurance would not pay to have it removed as it is just considered a cosmetic issue - but I dislike it. She interpreted it as a clogged pore. It is about 1/4 of an inch wide, and at least that high. It was very hard, but is beginning to soften, and seems lower to me. I am hopeful that my body will figure out what to do with it.
I have one other pair of jeans that is smaller than the ones I am in. They are a size 14. I look forward to fitting in to them soon!
Again today I did simple juices, and managed to get in 3 1/2 quarts. It was a day where I had lots of responsibilities and had to be running around a lot. I was excited to pick up a bunch of cucumbers at the local farmer's market, because they have no coating on them. Even the organic ones I buy have that waxy coating, and since I like to juice the whole cucumber that bugs me.
My favorite juice of the day was celery and romaine with a bit of green onion and lemon. Really refreshing. And I believe I've discovered a secret. I think I have been adding too much lemon to this sort of juice. In one VitaMix container, I used just a half lemon, and one green onion. I had used enough celery to dilut the lettuce nicely - and this combo had just a hint of the lemon/onion flavor. I really liked it. I did another batch later in the day with the celery I had left, romaine, and again one green onion and just a touch of lemon. Again, very refreshing.
I also made about a 1/2 container of carrot with one Granny Smith apple and just a quarter of lemon, with a tsp. of cinnamon. It was delightful . . . but I just could not fit in another juice! I had gotten started late drinking the juices, and there just was not room for another one. So . . . I have a lovely juice waiting for me in the morning.
supplements: iodine, 6 drops - 2 tsp. msm - 10,000 units D3 - 1/2 tsp baking soda (I have not, to date, been able to get in the habit of doing this both morning and night) - 1 magnesium tablet - T. fish oil
I am VERY pleased that my left eye has been so much more comfortable with the addition of the fish oil to my diet. Thank you, David, for that suggestion!
I was worn out by the end of the day, and did not get in any exercise . . . so my goal for tomorrow is to get in a nice long walk.
