January 21, 2013 and still going strong with raw foods and juicing.

So my husband and I are starting our 3rd week with our modified juicing/eating lifestyle. We juice about 85% of the time and eat a few meals during the week. He has 4 and I have 3 and once in awhile we nibble too if you want Primarily, for me, I only selecting raw foods when I eat my meals and occasional snacks but that's few if any.

Here is what I notice so far:

Unlike a diet where you feel deprived I now get full so fast on just a few juicings a day.

I don't crave food the way I use to where I pick and eat all day. I am satisfied and move on and accept this lifestyle much easier. The first week was hell but so worth sticking out because I am lifting in spirit, mood and energy and I like that.

If I am hungry and want to pick at food I go in and grab a few walnuts, dates, rains and I am good.

Salads are my primary meals when I do eat and I load them with tons of veggies, some avocado, olives, raisins, walnuts and occasionally goat cheese. 

My skin is really soft and my face is changing...less stress looking and youthful. I like this! Especially at 51. I see this in my husband too.

I have a TON  of energy and it's just amazing. I played tennis with the family this weekend and I was bouncing on my feet which was so unusual. I can recall looking back on many times when exercising that it was a chore (no fun) to be active but this time I had more energy than the kids...wow!

As far my body and weight I am trimming down and slowly. You think all this juicing and raw food eating that I lose weight fast but it's not like that and that's ok...just something i have notice but in a good way. I mean I am full from the juicing and yet eating plentiful salads filled with all the trimmings so I am satisfied always. Unlike the first week but now it's happening and I like this.   I don't feel deprived anymore and do allow myself to splurge one day a week with a glass or wine if I want to.

My husband and I have chosen this path and to last a lifetime because at the end we want to feel good, live long and be healthy. I can see the result in my husband too and it's amazing as I look at him and see him  slimmer and fitter. He says the same about me and one day I will share my before and after here but it won't be yet for awhile...I want to make a good dent in my body before I do that...anyways, off to exercise!

Love your blog Tinachristina.  It's just what I like to hear for inspiration.  Yes, I love to juice too and I think it's lovely how you are describing how you are able to eat and stay high on juice and raw foods.  Consistency and keeping at it and you are seeing results and making great inroads.....

That's great to hear that you and you're husband are doing so well...you're an inspiration!  I'm saving for a juicer and can't wait until I can begin juicing and experiencing all the good things it seems to hold!  Good luck in your continued good health!
