Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!

Hi, Being one busy gay these days, I still take time to pop into the mansion and post something to hopefully cheer someone or inspire!

On my yahoo this morning (I dont watch tv) it said about droughts in many areas, including OK and Texas.

I was wondering if our habbers are doing ok and have not suffered any losses.

I cant imagine 18 days of 100 degree temps! In the east, the heat has been pretty oppresive at times too. We have also had rain though.

It shows our earth is in trouble and heating up.

Please drop in and let us know if you are affected and how you are faring?

I send you love Penni, as I know you live in Ok. I hope you are well.

Sending you rain, I hope!

Much love from my concerned and comforting heART to yours! Muah Bette Bliss

BTW did not mean to make light of the severe heat and drought conditions going on in much of the country. Growing up in NY state I pretty much took rain for granted but now that I live in a place with less rain I realize what a miracle it is and how dependent we are on such natural gifts. May we all be blessed with rain soon.

So glad you liked the picture, Supermom! Susan, the sound of that rain in the clip you posted is healing for my soul :)

I am happy to say, it's a little cooler in Springfield Missouri this week! A large church message board said, "Pray for rain!".  I am.

It was fun to see Lucy's photo of light rain on the porch in California; along with, a lovely succulant plant and a watermelon!  I love pictures of everyday moments like that! Just enough to rain to need a car wash, but not enough to water the garden.

I don't have anything weather-wise to complain about in coastal California but the weather here has been strange as well. We NEVER have rain in the summer but a couple of days ago it rained for about 5 minutes. We were all so excited and happy...and confused.

We've had plenty of rain lately here in Oz but noone has forgotten all the hardships with recent years of drought and severe city water restrictions for years. They are again forecasting more drought conditions as of the end of this year here.

So fortunately cycle wise all the heat affected places in US and elsewhere should have relief in the foreseeable future.

In the big picture it is a wake up call that we can no longer take for granted any climatic conditions of the past and conservation now takes on a more personal meaning. Sustainability is everyone's business.

Best wishes to all.

Love the rain video and hoping for a lot for those who need it badly.

I hear you Supermom and glad you are ok so far. We are in for some rough weather it appears.

I feel for elderly too, although they get cold easily and love heat sometimes.

I thouroughly enjoyed listening to the rain video that Susan posted.  I am praying for gentle rain.

Bette, that is profoundly thoughtful of you.  I live in Springfield Missouri.  The heat and drought is uncomfortable for anyone that works outdoors, and dangerous for those without air conditioning. I am curous to know how others are being affected, and look forward to other comments on your post. I love that you thought of this Bette.

The heat and drought keeps our family indoors with the  air-conditioner on, there are less offerings available at the Farmer's Market, and the springtime trees and fields have turned dry and desolate.  As I drive to town, I notice cows gathered around nearly empty ponds, and nobody playing at parks.

Swimming pools and lakes are the favorite destination.  The heat advisories mean lower prices a the movie theater and no need to mow yards. The news reports that farmers are selling more cows than usual at auction, and for very low prices.
