Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!
I am having such a blast! A friend gave me her OLD Champion Juicer. I found a few new parts on Amazon, including the blank plate, which I found for under $5.00!!!! I had NO idea the things I could create. I have gone from using just plain frozen fruit (along with frozen banana for more body), to creating an almond cream- flavoring it, freezing it in cubes...and running that through the blank plate with frozen bananas..and I am in ecstasy! I don't even bother to strain the pulp from almond milk, because the juicer homogenizes it and it's super creamy. I've even added a bit of sunflower lecithin to the blended mix that I freeze...every flavor had been astounding.
Papaya
Mango
coconut
pineapple
blackberry
strawberry
peach
coffee almond fudge
vanilla fudge
mint chocolate chip
and so many more to come!!!!!!!!!!! It's so easy..the cleaning up the machine is the worst part. I have to decide...eat my ice cream first..and come back to clean.....or put ice cream in freezer to set a bit and get juicer cleaned up. LOL..but it's so worth it.
AND I even figured out how to make WAFFLE CONES!!!!!!

LOL Vanessa! "Barbi?"!!!! No one has called me that in a long time...used to be my name when younger..without the "e"..didn't want to be like the barbie doll.

Comment by Vanessa Machelle Helm on April 20, 2012 at 2:49pm Wait a minute! Ice cream? You're not serious, are you! Well, it's great that you don't need dairy to make ice cream, nor do you need it to keep bones strong! How do you reallly make waffle cones without food chemicals or additives, Barbie! How did you come up with raw ice cream without dairy? You must be a genius! I can't eat ice cream! If I do, I'll be getting fat! I'm scared! You are a genius!

My husband and I were just given an ice cream maker for our anniversary and we are getting ready to start making yummy raw ice cream...
BUT WAFFLE CONES!!!? wow - can you share your recipe? I'm so excited right now!!! LOL
Hey Lyza...you can make ice cream too. There are many ways of doing it. I did a post on my blog about the different ways..basically you can blend a mixture and put in an ice cream maker, or blend the mixture, and as you are freezing it, stir it up every hour or so...and serve while its still creamy (before it gets too hard)....it's very yummy! I'm just excited to have the juicer because it does give a little flexibility and def some creaminess....but I've done ice cream the "old fashioned" way for a couple of years. LOL
