Raw Food Rehab

Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!

Sorry it's been so long since I posted. Not much spectacular going on is the only reason.

I am enjoying my juice a lot. New favorite is grapefruit and jalapeno! I even juiced this for one of Vern's (husband) friends, and he liked it. This particular friend has recurring cancer, and I am trying to help him to eat healthier. He is on a lot of medications, has a lot of excuses, is very overweight and the cancer on his kidney has come back. I am checking on him daily, and making juice for him to take home. I made a vegan dinner Friday night and invited him over. It was vegan chili, not raw, but he did enjoy it. The chili is from the Hallelujah Acres "Recipes for Life" from God's Garden. Even my fussy son has been wolfing that down nonstop. Also made raw crepes for desert, and he loved that too.

There is another neighbor who is interested in juicing. She doesn't have a juicer, so she brings her cut up veggies and fruit over and I am juicing those for her until she decides which juicer she wants to buy.

Really makes me happy to do this for people who are willing to try.

I am slowly switching this household over to raw + vegan. I really need to work on my recipes, dig some of those vegetarian magazines out and get this family switched over. I think with Vern's friend having cancer, and with the books I've been reading (thanks, Julie!) ... and Vern in turn reads parts of them, that he is more than ready.

Hopped back on the treadmill last night, and it was wonderful. Vern finally got it fixed.

Planning on starting the Master Cleanse on Sunday with a friend here on RFR. I have to find a source of organic lemons. I sure hope the little health food store has them. The syrup part should be easy, as we tapped plenty of trees last winter/spring, and made a lot of maple syrup.

Seems that my days of enjoying sleeping in are over. I wake up so early and I'm ready to go! So that's cool....although I do enjoy a good nap in the afternoon, especially if the sun's shining down on the daybed :)

Enjoy reading the blogs when I get a chance. Keep them coming! :) Love, T.

Hope the cleanse is going well for you so far!! I will hopefully be starting on Wednesday at the latest!! It was my husbands birthday this weekend so I made lasagna for him and his friends that came over so now he wants to get that all eaten before he starts and I have a few things left that I need to eat :( It will come soon enough though!

Julie....one jalapeno pepper to four grapefruits. Yes, the maple syrup is great. But it was a great deal of work....collecting all of the sap, collecting firewood to boil it down, keeping the fire going all night....slogging through deep snow to the trees to carry the 5 gallon buckets to the tractor...too much work. I like buying honey much better!
