Raw Food Rehab

Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!

Looking for some help.  Has anyone been on the cliff of considering gastric bypass but was able to lose their weight successfully by going raw?  I am at my heaviest weight ever and lowest point in my health journey ever.  I have been having a lot of problems with yeast, my knees are bothering me, I feel like I can't take good deep breaths without much effort, and my skin and overall appearance is anything but glowing, as is to be expected when carrying this much extra weight and burden.   I would love to talk with someone who has been down this path for some support and help. Thanks, Chrissy

Check out Angela Stokes - she looks amazing after having lost a great deal of weight through the raw diet... I think she has written an e-book on emotional eating as well. Hope this is helpful - and good luck. I'm sure you'll look back in a year's time and be so proud of yourself for taking this journey.

Thank you very much for the support.  I am a hospital nurse and have seen the benefits to people as well as some of the scary bad stuff that can happen as well.  But I am losing to this food addiction and lifelong battle.

What Maryanne said... bill Barlow and Dave the Raw Trucker, both members here, and friends of mine. Both of these guys lost 200+ pounds. They are great for info, support, etc. friends them and ask them your questions. As far as the surgery... I had one friend who did it with good results, one friend who got lymphedema for life because the doctor cut a major lymph vessel during the surgery, one who had it reversed because it didn't work for her. There are different procedures. Oprah did a show on people who had the surgery and became alcoholics or some other new addiction. It's so easy to think of extra weight as "the problem". I believe it is the visible symptom of the real problem, which is in our thinking. I believe we need to heal ourselves, and work on the inside. The outside is a visible manifestation of what's going on inside.

A friend of mine stuggled with her weight so many years and finally last year she got  the gastric bypass surgery.  She  has lost considerable amount of weight  and seems happy with her choice.  On the other hand, a co worker had the surgery about 10 years ago and she is still struggling with her weight.     I have had weight issues for many years- and have been between 102 all the way to 200 pounds   back and forth.  Now I am just concentrating on eating well and drinking lots of water- I have dropped almost 50 pounds over the last year.  Just going slowly and staying healthy.

Hi Chrissy, I second what Mary Ann just recommended. Bill Barlow and Dave Conrardy have amazing life changing experiences. I am glad you are looking into alternatives to surgery. Glad you posted here.

Hi Chrissy - I'm so sorry to hear about your health :(  You might want to take a look at Bill Barlows journey and Dave Conrardy (Dave the Raw Food Trucker) - they both lost all their weight and health problems with the raw food diet. Just do a search on google.....xoxo
