Any suggestions to relieve fluid retention/swollen ankles? Not overweight. Eat lots of cucumber juice with some celery, which are supposed to be good diuretics.

Comment by Lynn Harris on March 18, 2012 at 3:24pm I've had the same problem. My doc said it was a symptom of the lymphatic system being clogged with toxins, which goes along with what everyone else is saying. Dry skin brushing and rebounding are supposed to be good for that. I've also read it can take up to 2-3 years to thoroughly detox, and that periodic water fasts can speed the process.
Comment by Peggy Speir on March 13, 2012 at 1:12am continue eating/juicing raw, up your water intake to flush your system, and exercise (I agree with djd - legs up the wall helps).
I seem to have the same problem from time to time. I think it has more to do with the ebb and flow of my body because its not all the time. I juice cucumber and celery everyday. I'm not for certain why somedays I seem to be puffier than others. Perhaps my body is not releasing toxins.
A continual eating plan of raw food cleanses the body and then the body has no need to hold water.
Retention is there to dilute toxins and is a defense mechanism the body is using to balance as best it can. Eating more nutrition than the body needs, brings it into balance by itself.
Legs up the wall helps and also exercise.
