Real Food Rehab

No rigid rules, labels or dogmas.... just REAL food, for your body, mind & soul!

Been doing a lot of juices and smoothies the last few days. As always, it works as a charm and I already feel much happier. In 2 weeks I'm going on holiday, until then I will only be eating raw soups, smoothies and juice. The great thing about cleansing is that you're actually looking forward to it, it doesn't feel like a diet at all. Just like you're being superkind to your body and you eat lots of yummy things :) I would really like to learn how to get out of a cleanse and staying raw for a long time without overeating after a while though, it's tough.

I want to start a yoga class but I'm scared that I'm not going to be able to do it, that I won't understand a thing and feel like an idiot. I've been thinking about doing it for 2 years. Gaah. I wish I was one of those people who love doing stuff in groups. I'm a runner, but I wouldn't be able to do it with someone next to me.

I agree with Nathalie. It is easier to to juice and smoothies. She is right about the Yoga too. My first class I did not really like it but then I went to hot yoga and love it. So keep in mind that it may feel weird the first time, but I would give it a second go as well. What I like about the hot yoga is that it is great for detox and since you are an athelete, I truely think you would love it. It was a bit more regerous than the first class I went to. Not sure what the style was on the first one I went to as I went with a friend as their guest.

Anybody who is doing yoga, whatever their level, started at zero. So you have to start somewhere. It is like this of everything, you want to do something new? you start at level zero, you see if you like it and then if you do, it is a piece of (raw ahahahah) cake. Just go to one class and then you'll see if you like it to the point of going back.

You can also get a video and start at home. Get a beginner one.

Well done on your liquid fast, it is great that you do that, it is easy especially if you work, much easier (to my point of view) than just juicing.

You are doing well!!!!

Totally understand your situation and how you feel about the Yoga class, I test out as an introvert, oddly but I love to read and write and I have learned to be more out going from my sales experience. However I can assure you, no one is really watching you when you are doing Yoga. I went to a hot yoga class and really loved it. It was great for detox and it is so good for your body to stretch.

As far as not over endulging after your cleans, what I have found is I have to stay away from my trigger foods which are anything wheat, sugar or starchy foods such as potatoes. I will on occassion have a potatoe that is sweet or a small white potatoe. The darker colors are better but limiting them is the most important thing. I buy small ones so they are already portioned because if I buy big ones, I will eat the whole thing. I see them almost as a treat now like I used to see cake or icecream, that is the categorie I put them in so try to only eat them on holidays or special occasions. But I am very sensitive to carbohydrates and gluten. Perhaps that is not an issue with you. As far as dairy, I stay away from it completely.Too much mucus and not good for by body at all because I am lactose intolerant. I use coconut milk instead. I am not sure what your trigger foods are but thought this might give you some ideas on how to deal with them.
