No rigid rules, labels or dogmas.... just REAL food, for your body, mind & soul!
It's incredible that I've already reached 50 days on raw - it's been so much easier than I'd thought, and is becoming such a way of life.
I generally eat fruit all day (until about 7 or 8pm) and have a salad at night (9-10pm). Sometimes I feel like something savoury during the day and then I'll eat an Heirloom tomato or some veggies. I keep an eye on my nutrition using the Cronometer. I'm not too fazed about eating a certain number of calories, although I do try to get to at least 1500. I've found now that I'm eating like this I have much less of an appetite BUT when I do eat, I enjoy it thoroughly. Some would say I'm not eating enough but my body feels good this way and (for the first time ever) I'm listening to what it wants. I have a lot of healing to do.
Admittedly, I've slipped up a couple times by eating cooked rice and zucchini on a couple days where my emotions were screaming for cooked food. I'm not beating myself up about it though, even though I enjoyed the meals - I noticed a serious loss of energy the next day. I have also had the odd glass of wine here and there which has left me with a horrible HEAVY, foggy feeling the next morning.
I'm now in the middle of what is either a cold or just another handful of 'detox' symptoms; I've had a sore throat for about 6 days, slight cough and now today a headache, runny nose and sneezing. I had a 2 hour nap today and woke up feeling slightly better. I don´t deprive myself of sleep when I feel I need it as I honestly believe it's the fastest way to heal.
I'm reading really great book I picked up second-hand on Amazon called 'The Live Food Factor' - it's quite scientific yet practical at the same time. Lots of good referencing!!
So, in summary - after 50 days;
I now need to back off the coffee.
