Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!
So this is day 35 and I am back to my world and the things I have to deal with. I have a great feeling of accomplishment with all that I was able to help my friend with. Now to get ready for a garage sale to sell her things. Praying God will bless our work!:O)
Feeling overall good about life but I must say that the sugar thing was a bad idea, even if it was natural sugars. My body for whatever reason does not do well with it. I had some very low level depression this morning, which I have noticed from high sugar foods again. This speaks volumes to me about what is best for my body. Got to do what is good for me and that is back to no fruits at all for now. My blood sugar is most stable when I do this and I felt great. Seems my body has gotten super sensitive. I think of course that the dried fruits are the highest in sugar so must remember this. Also did not notice this with fresh fruits so that is important for me to note as well.
So I am up and ready to seize the day and dive back into my own routine. Feeling empowered and ready to tackle the world!:O)
Some have asked what I eat and it all kind of depends on what I have on hands. But generally I do have a salad for breakfast or sometimes I cut up a cucumber and salt it a bit. Sometimes it is a tomato. I know they are considered fruit but I consider them more a veggie and so far they seem fine. One thing I will say that I learned from a lady who has helped many loose weight(don't agree with the free for all approach to food she says is okay) is I wait for the feeling of hunger in my stomach before I eat. I also eat small amounts.
However at lunch or dinner I eat alot of veggies, I can eat a pretty big salad. I also sometimes do a light stir fry of veggies in water, but they are still crisp.
Also as snacks I either eat 1 ounce of sprouted almonds or half of an avacado. That is my healthy fat choice. Alot of times I save this for later in the day as it helps me with my evening craving of fullness. If I choose the nuts for my fat I will divide the 1 oz into two snacks.(aprox 12 almonds is half an ounce) and have some mid morning and then some mid afternoon.
My friend who is helping me suggested that I have some type of meat twice a week such as fish or chicken. I don't know that this is totally necessary as I had not been doing this but I am making note of it.
He also suggested scrambling egg whites for breakfast.
Some of you may be offended by these suggestions but they are only suggestions he mentioned to me.
I would say that if a person were doing this they certainly need to know who is raising the chickens and what they are being feed. Alot of feed is GMO and has chemicals in it so this is very important to know your farmer and the methods they use. Same for any consideration of eating meat. I might add that just because it says organic does not mean it is a great choice...have seen some videos of how some farms raise these animals and the living conditions are dispicable, even for the so called organic farms. I think buying local on anything is best but still I would definately check out how things are done from your source before even considering these types of things.
Also, make sure you wash your veggies, very important because you can get parasites from contaminated foods. I was very ill with GI issues a few years ago, which I had been told was all in my head and that I was just having anxiety. Well guess what, I had a parasite called an ameobia which can actually be fatal if it crosses the blood brain barrier. It has been know to do this and cause meningitis. Many people die from this type of meningitis and it is often contracted by swimming in contaminated waters and entering the nose. It is often found in stagnant water when it is hot and muggy in the summer time. So just be aware and take this seriously.
I must note here that is was a naturopathic doctor who figure out what was wrong with me. Main stream medicine did not...just saying! So thankful for this smart man. I was very very ill and he had done a thermogram on me which showed inflammation all over my body. He had told me that every organ was compromised and I was very ill. Of course I knew that by how I was feeling, but so thankful he knew what to do to find out what was wrong with me. After I began my treatment my weight and stomach went down substantially as it was so inflammed from this pesky little parasite. I wonder how long that critter had been causing me problems because I had issues with diarhea and mucus which it is know to cause for several years. Hard to say, it could have been from dairy too though as I found that it really makes me ill and causes similar GI distress. I am just thankful that I found out about these things. My life is so much better now that I have eliminated the offending foods. I no longer have seasonal allergies anymore and I remember having them as child and having unknow stomach discomfort that the doctors could not figure out. I was told I just had an acidic stomach...WRONG! I love my coconut milk and will never include cows milk in my diet ever again!
Good grief I have another book written here again. I just am hoping that any info I have found out through trial and error will help others so want to share my experiences. Making these changes in my life has greatly improved my health overall so I want to pass along anything that might help someone else figure out their health woes. Of course I am not a doctor and my issues may not be the same as someone elses but I believe in the free flow of sharing info and that is how I began to find out what was at the bottom of my health problems and made hugh improvements in my overall health.
TMI! Have a wonderful day all my raw food buddies out there! Hugs and XOX,
