Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!
My trip to Chicago to see my friend was a good one. She really needed my help. She had been really down and thinking that she was without hope. Well, by the time I left, she felt empowered and her whole mood changed to dreaming and hoping! That made it all worth it!
We talked about alkalinizing her diet and cutting out sugar and she gave up ice cream. She is really really trying and we also talked about her drinking more akaline water and taking some supplements such as tumeric. By the time we covered theses things she could do to help herself as well as making some very simple foods for her,she felt like it was do-able. We even talked about her dreams and what she wanted to do with her life as far as future goals. It was fun!
It realy is not as hard as it seems sometimes. We often make mountains out of mole hills when if we just get started, it is not so hard. I have found that eating lots of raw veggies keeps me full and I have not even really missed the sweet stuff. I have also found that I am not craving things anymore like I used too. Nice feeling.
That is not to say that I have done this perfectly because I have not. But the times I have ventured off which has been very few, I find my body reacts very strongly to let me know it is NOT okay with it to do that. For example, when I got to Chicago, ,my friend had ordered pizza so we would not have to cook and I did have some, guess what, I did not even eat much and the next day I was very sick...ugh! So I refused to eat any of the left overs. I did not want to offend her since she had ordered it and was trying make things easier but let me tell you, from now on I am not going to concern myself with that. I am going to say I am on a strict diet and cannot eat gluten or cheese. The rest of the time I took over and we went to the store and got veggies and things went much better. As far as the trip up and back, I did not do as well. I ended up eating some raw bars and a green bar, which of course are not allowed for me because of the sugar but did not have time or for thought to pack healthy snacks. My bad. But if that is the worst I do, during this 90 journey, it is not so bad. Life is not perfect and I am not fretting about it.
What I have learned is to listen to my body and it tells me it likes veggies and good fats such as nuts and avocados.
While I was in Chicago area, I helped my friend clean out her closet and purge a bunch of clothes that no longer fit her. She has lost alot of weight since being sick and went from a size16 to a size 10. We are now going to have a garage sale and take the money to help her get some of the supplements she needs. By the time I got done, we had her house clean and things were orderly in her closet and she felt so relieved and thankful. She wanted to do it as she is normally a very organized person but just had not had the energy to tackle it herself.
It gave us a chance to visit and get done some much needed work.
Ironically when I was living up there, and was dealing with having a concussion from a car accident, she was the one who helped me get groceries and even cooked for me from time to time. She was a lifesavor. So thankful for our friendship and the blessings it has brought.
So glad to be home now and back to the consistent detox I started. It feels good to be home and in my own environment. I love to travel and visit friends but it is always nice to come home!:O)
