Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!
Well after three days of cantaloupe I have to say it is important to be prepared.
Before this fast, at the beginning of June I did 2 sugar free weeks with a friend. It was harder than these few days on melon but also let my body prepare for this.
I have had "ok" energy levels. Last week was very active with lots of events and I noticed just once I was very grumpy but after a melon snack, the feeling went away. I'm taking a nap around 5 pm which helps to replenish energy for the rest of the day.
I have noticed I am extremely sensitive to noises though and I am dreaming a lot again, the past few years it would normally happen when I overate before going to bed and they would be nightmares but now the dreams are leaving me with a happy feeling when I wake up.
Surprisingly I am not very hungry during the day, I have to remind myself to eat when I start feeling sleepy but I am drinking lots and lots of water.
Yesterday me and my friends did a nice picnic on a park, while we were waiting for more people to arrive everyone was snacking and I was there sitting on the grass, sipping on water talking to others. One of my friends kept telling me to eat and I would tell her that I wanted to wait for everyone to arrive. I had forgotten to mention to some of them that I was fasting and after answering some of the standard questions we all continue to enjoy a nice day on a park, we all ate, talked, listened to music and had an even of what I made me feel safe and respected and I am grateful for that.

Comment by Annabelle on July 6, 2012 at 6:37am that is true, I've opted to use the word "cleanse", people seem to have a better reaction to that than "fast"
Comment by Sherry Fraley on July 3, 2012 at 7:40am I think it's cool you are remembering dreaming and that they are nice. It might be interesting to record them on waking. Glad you had a nice time in park with friends. Sometimes I tell people I am giving my digestive system a bit of a break to renew and energize. The word "fast" is a red flag to some people.
