Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!

I started my cruise with lots of fruits for breakfast and salads for lunch and dinner. I was having a hard time eating PLAIN salads. I did grab an orange and squeeze it over the salad which helped. The fruit was well fruit. I was missing my fats. No avocados no oils and nuts here and there that I brought. I made it 2 days 100% raw. I did make some chocolate chia pudding using a water base (it was okay) and poured it over bananas and added nuts on the third day. BUT we were out on a tour for 7hours and had to eat what was provided. I did eat the chicken salad but ditched most of the bread. I had a 1/2 cup of chilli and a small sad salad(this is the ONLY option we had for lunch). SO this started my downfall. I ate more fruits and veggies for dinner but some SAD got in. The next day was another tour. I had a small bowl of oatmeal with fruit. Lunch was mostly frit and salad (I couldn't take another salad with nothing on it so I used a small amount of the dressing available) Dinner was plain fruit and salad.

Next morning more oatmeal with fruit. Lunch fruit and salad and a snack of SAD food. Dinner was a a sald and they made a tasty fennel and citrus salad (YEAH) Dinner was more salad and another tasty treat-Jicama and pineapple salad. Then they had a chocolate buffet :( I took 2 items had one bite each and trashed the rest.

Did have some decaf coffee with milk :(

All in all I felt I didn't do as bad as I could have. The normal person gains 1 1/2 lbs per day on a cruise and I actually Lost .5 lbs.

I walked the jogging track one day and got in a mile. We took the stairs most times unless we were going up more then 2 floors. Down was easy LOL.

One of the tours had 99 stairs!!! and we went down back up and down and up again.

When we came home I made a coconut, strawberry, pineapple, orange banana smoothie and an avocado massaged kale salad. My body was so happy!!!

So I think I need to have the good fats in my diet to satisfy my body.

Though I was not eating exactly as I wanted I was satisfied with how I did eat.

Now onto Raw Results!!!

Pat yourself on the back for doing as well as you did while on the cruise with not so optimal food choices.  I'm going on an Inside Passage Cruise to Alaska the end of August for a week and I'm hoping and praying they have a lot of raw, vegan choices!  I'm high-raw so won't worry about the occasional baked potato etc...but I'm still hoping for the best.

I think you did a great job! Even with the fact that there are millions of cooked food choices, snacks, and desserts available 24 hours a day of a cruise, you stayed as raw as possible without starving your self and then binging. You didn't eat any of the desserts, and that in itself (imho) is worthy of congrats!
