A little help here!! Got a dinner out with my lovely mother-in-law and when she wants to go to Longhorn Steak house, we go. Reviewing their menu where I am in TN shows a cole slaw and a mixed green salad. Any suggestions for me to stay raw?

I'm a little late to the party, but figure you'll have many more opportunities to eat in restaurants. You might want to check out my article Dining Out In The Raw. You are more than welcome to print out my restaurant card and use it. It hasn't let me down yet. Using it tonight in fact, as the whole clan heads to the Olive Garden to celebrate my mom's birthday.

I see I am late with my response...but just to share:
when I go out to eat I always take an avocado with me and a few dehydrated raw crackers. I also have a tiny glass bottle where I have a mix of olive oil, celtic salt and vinegar.
I usually try not to eat a whole avocado...but when I go out to dinner, I 'treat myself' and eat the whole thing with a salad. Every place you go to has salad...just remember to tell them "no cheese, croutons, etc...."

I see you got the help already, but just wanted to say that I too am from Tennessee and I sooo know where you're coming from when you talk about our 'eating out' options.
Sad, isn't it? LOL

I've yet to find a raw restaurant around the Nashville area, so if you hear of one, pleeeeeese let me know.

Much Love~

I went to a pizza place and ordered their pathetic salad but I had brought my own guacamole and salsa.
I am going out to a big steak house this weekend for a BD party and called ahead and they told me no problem they would make exactly what I asked for. I will bring my own dressing. I think it will be Michelles cashew one it will go great on the main salad and the fruit salad dessert I ordered.

I took a dressing to the restaurant, they had no trouble with that. I had a nice large mixed green salad without croutons or cheese. Worked out great!!

I'll quickly make some dressing--thanks!

That's one scary looking menu. I'd call ahead and discuss the situation. At best they could give you a nice salad and you can provide your own dressing and crunchy bits since you know in your heart of hearts their dressings aren't good for you either. Good luck!
