Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!

detox...head colds...and finally some good weather.

hi everyone...i haven't been posting lately, i've barely even been on here lately...here is the rundown...

i've been chanting every morning and every evening (and i've been to a special meeting/celebration...last sunday and a study meeting... last night, the monthly kossen ruffu gongyo session is tomorrow, but i can't get anyone to watch the kids so may have to miss it, i may have to chant for some miracle that makes it possible for me to make it there), staying raw with a few exceptions (a slip up once and some herbal tea the rest of the time), the kids have sinus infections, one has strep throat, i had the head cold part of what started them off and that went away, but a few days later i got a minor stomach bug, which may have also been detox related, either way it's finally over and the sun came out today...it was 56 degrees and we opened some windows to let fresh air into the house.from what i've heard the weather is supposed to remain this nice until near the end of next week...then we'll see how it goes from there.

the wii fit batteries died this week and i finally replaced them today and will be doing my weekly weigh in 2 days later than usual, tomorrow morning.

i've made some decisions over the last few weeks...i started a blog about transitioning my family to raw...i'm looking into getting licensed to do hair and going to try getting a job at one of the more natural salons of which there are several in my area...i'm going to lighten my hair to maybe a shade or 2 lighter than my natural base color in hopes that it will blend with the color my hair would naturally turn from the summer sun...and last but not least i've decided to start running...i have some sneakers that will do for the next week or two, but in the long run i'll need better running shoes. i'm going with the couch potato to 5K plan...it may take me 2 or 3 times the amount of time outlined (they outline a 9 week plan), but that's just fine with me, what matters is the progress and the journey, not how long it takes to get there.

here is basically what i've eaten today...

breakfast- chocolate avo pudding with strawberries

lunch- really big green smoothie

dinner- yummy raw veggie soup (i got the basic recipe off of "we like it raw", but didn't have the seasoning mentioned, so kind of played with some seasonings that i do have to make it work)

much love to everyone here on RFR! i hope to be posting more this week. goodnight and sweet dreams!

peace and love,

Yum, chocolate avo pudding with strawberries - for breakfast! Gotta love RAW...

Wishing you the very best with your plans, all of which sound so positive, and wishing all of you much better health, for a long, long time.  Good for you, staying mostly raw with everything that's been going on.  I still have a tendency to seek the old UN-comfort foods when I don't feel well... which just makes everything worse, of course!  :-(

Simone, and I was complaining about chin hairs.  Glad to hear from you and love the way you sound.  Keep up the passion!!

The running sounds exciting too!  I'm rooting for you -- you can definitely do it. I think that taking the training at your own pace is a great idea. However long it takes, you're still out there getting great exercise and covering new ground.

I'm sorry for all the sick days, no fun at all, I hope you guys are back to 100% really, really soon. Sounds like you are doing great otherwise though!! I'm very inspired by your dedication to your spiritual practices. It sounds like such a positive force in your life. I'll pray that you make it to your celebration...

Your food sounds delicious too!  xoxo
