No rigid rules, labels or dogmas.... just REAL food, for your body, mind & soul!
To sustain you through the hard times, you have to find your deep motivation--your Why. Your Why is probably not what you think it is. It is not usually related to appearance. Whatever it is, it needs to be vivid and we need to make it crystal clear and able to be summoned at the smallest need.Human beings like homeostasis--that is, we like things to stay the same. Even if a situation is uncomfortable, painful, or embarrassing, we quickly develop coping skills to deal with them, because our reluctance to change is stronger than our desire to have the new outcome. Often times, things have gotten progressively worse but we haven't noticed how bad it's gotten because we are constantly adapting to the new conditions. Just like the frog doesn't notice the water getting hotter and hotter until it is too late.
To combat this, we need to turn up the heat in our lives. We need to heap pain on the status quo, the current situation that is bad, but that we have gotten used to. And then we need to heap excitement on the new situation to help us get motivated and provide us the energy to change.
We can accomplish both of these through a technique called Neuro Linguistic Programming, or NLP. Answer the series of questions below, as I did in the video. Be sure to feel the emotions, in the present tense, and make it as detailed and realistic as possible. In the end, you should end up very ready for change, very excited to get started, and more than anything, you will absolutely know your Why.
Let's get started!
Ok my friends, you have your Why. Go forth and do great things! If you want to, share your Why in the comments.

Heather, I've not been on here for quite some time. I just now saw this video and I have to say that it was truly wonderful! I'm in an Anatomy & Physiology class at my college right now and we just studied the brain. I can vouch for NLP. I had heard of it but never really checked it out. What you described is exactly how our brain processes stuff and it was exciting to hear you explain it. Thanks for giving me new motivation for my lifestyle. I'm doing research and gaining more confidence that I can do this. I've lost 30 lbs in 9 months so I'm already doing something right. Thanks again!
This one is very interesting. Thanks!
thank you ..I needed this today...and it was here. I appreciate you and your journey . thank you
Heather these are so good- to think about all the things that can trip us up. It is all great when we are feeling great but it just takes one time to see an ex or some weirdly emotional thing that can make a good day do bad….. and it always seems like a horrible surprise like a bridge that was washed away.
Thanks so much !
