Great advice Mary Ann! Lean in to it! The more salads and green smoothies and raw foods you eat, the more your body will desire them. You will do well.
I agree with everyone - I started by adding in a green smoothie every morning (that was 3 years ago and I STILL do it now!) and then I would concentrate on just ADDING more raw to your meals. Don't think of it as taking away things you enjoy - just start adding NEW things that are raw - in time, you will find yourself adopting a high raw lifestyle :) LEAN IN TO IT.....

Comment by Lisa Hesse on November 18, 2012 at 3:50pm I concur with Deborah. Start with one green smoothy a day. Spinach, 1 apple, 1 pear, 1 kiwi and 1 banana in a blender and add a handful of almonds. Top it of with cold water. Do that in the morning, seven days a week though. You''ll be surprised how your body will react to this drink. Before you know it you'll want one at night time too.
Check out the nutribullet. It's $120 but you can make $20 payments for 6 month. That's what i did.
Comment by Deborah Grissam on November 18, 2012 at 6:08am Start with green smoothies- lots of fruit and some spinach - It is easy and deliciious - for breakfast or lunch
Since I am the only raw foodist in my family- making big batches in the dehydrator has ended with me overeating when it is done. I like to just keep it very simple and just make up different salads dependent on what fruits and veggies I have on hand.
I would start slow and not be overwhelmed by the MANY MANY products and equipment. All you really need to get a good start is just a blender- I used my cheap blender at first until it broke and then upgraded. But the cheap blenders work really well for smoothies. I would suggest lots of greens, salads and smoothies. It will help you feel and look fantastic- I mostly use strawberries for my smoothies becasue I also have a sugar problem. Sometimes I put in raw protein powder or hemp seeds.
Comment by Devona on November 17, 2012 at 6:15pm There is a cookbook called Raw Made Easy For 1 or 2 People by Jennifer Cornbleet, she also has a dvd with the same title. She really breaks things down for those just getting into raw food and makes everything very easy to understand. The first time I saw her book and dvd I was at my library. I loved the book so much that I ordered it off of Amazon. The dvd is great but I didn't know if I would watch it again. You can google her and watch some of her videos online, they really helped me to get started.
