Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!
As most of us know, holistic medicine is not widely recognized in the United States. And what a shame. I have been wanting to go to school for a few years for Holistic Nutrition but never could seem to find the right program. None of the programs I have come across are certified or licensed programs. Now this doesn't completely bother me because I know in my heart I would much rather study holistic medicine than traditional medicine, and do whatever I possibly can to help people with that knowledge, "licensed" or not. My ultimate plan is to get into Bastry Universty to study as a Naturopathic Doctor, but thats 10+ years of schooling and I want to start a program that allows me to get my career started while I'm studying to be a ND. I came across a program for a "Clinical Nutritionist" Its a distance learning program from the school California College of Natural Medicine. Basically I feel id be paying tuition for information and not exactly a "degree".
Is there any one else out there who has found it difficult to trust in an alternative medicine school?
My mind is struggling with the fact that I'm going to be doing 2 years of school work (that i think is well worth it for the information) and not getting a valid degree or license recognized in the medical community. I guess thats why its called "alternative" right?
Any information or advice would be lovely. : ] thanks!
