Raw Food Rehab

Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!

I recently watched a video by Freelee on youtube about dieting and the scale.  Part of what she was saying really hit home for me.  Soooooo, I decided to put the scale away for a bit and simply focus on my health and the way eating raw makes me feel.  I do not want to be a slave to the darn scale.  I feel a huge sense of relief, a shift in my way of thinking.  I feel like now the weight loss is an added bonus and reward!!!

I don't weigh myself, but I can guess my weight by how my clothes fit and how I feel.  There is no hiding.  When I'm in my healthier mindset, eating nutritious food and getting some exercise, I like to think of the scale as giving me feedback.

That's wonderful :)  As long as you are feeling better, that number means nothing!

I think there is a place for a scale at different points in people's journeys.  I view it as a tool to keep things in check, but certainly not a negative thing to be a slave to.  The most important thing is to have vibrant health and a healthy weight is usually a by-product of that! Blessings to you.

Yeah, I don't own a scale. I always have to wait until a doctor's appointment to find out how much weight I've lost. I think that's good because everyone fluctuates a few pounds from day to day depending on a lot of factors. It would be maddening to look at the scale every day and sometimes be disappointed by an increase that isn't actually an increase considering the overall trend.

I agree.  I don't have a scale anymore.  I have noticed my pants getting looser when I eat more raw foods, and that's a good enough measurement for me.  I just don't think the scale is a useful tool for me anymore.  Too many bad memories! I am not running a race to see how much I can lose and how fast, I am eating for my health and will consider weight loss an extra bonus to all that the raw way of life gives me.
