I know I haven't been blogging much. Was having a rough patch, these last few weeks. Seems like the magic has gone out of life, and there isn't enough good to balance out the negative things.
I was feeling like a fish out of water, my neighbors are my mother in law to the south, and to the north, east and…

Hello friends,
I've tried a few times to set up a blog. Even the easiest ones seem to have me stymied. I've given up on Wordpress, and have now signed up for a Blogger account.
My blog will be about combining P90X with an 80-90% raw food diet to see if I can be in the best shape of my life by my next birthday, my 50th, in March.
Question #1 is if I type things in Abicast, and save them, can I later insert that onto my blog page? And how do you all…

Sorry it's been so long since I posted. Not much spectacular going on is the only reason.
I am enjoying my juice a lot. New favorite is grapefruit and jalapeno! I even juiced this for one of Vern's (husband) friends, and he liked it. This particular friend has recurring cancer, and I am trying to help him to eat healthier. He is on a lot of medications, has a lot of excuses, is very overweight and the cancer on his kidney has come back. I am checking on him daily, and making juice…

Vern wanted to get some parts for one of the old Jeeps he's working on so I suggested a trip to Richland Center, so I could go to the health food store. THEY HAD KALE!!!! Woooohooo....I was going to make a batch of onion bread for the dehydrator but the kale is definitely going in asap. Kale chips.....here I come.
We got back about 1 pm-ish, and the sun was shining and 20 degrees felt like a doggone heat wave, so I grabbed Moses' leash, and we headed out the door for a walk/jog…

I am sitting here, working on my 2nd quart of juice today. It seems like a lot to get down. Still, it's a great feeling to think of all of this super nutrition I'm putting in my body. I started the morning off...well, by the time I really got it done it was 11:30 am but it was my favorite granny smith/cucumber/celery juice. Right after that I made a beet/grapefruit/celery juice that's the one I'm working on right now. It isn't so bad really. A gorgeous color for sure.
I woke up many…

I am thinking....I really need to do this. Will have to read more about it. And would love to hear from others who have done the juice feast and/or are planning to try it (new years' resolution?)

Sorry, for the lack of posting, my raw friends. Today was my last day of work for a week and a half or so (I hope) and will get back on track. So tired tonight. got done with work, did grocery shopping, had a message on the answering machine that we were to pick up the amish neighbor's child from school (they get done at 3:10 pm) and we were both at work- neither of us got home until after 4pm (presumptuous neighbor). Panicked, running around looking for her. Found her. took her home. Unloaded…

Well, I should have found a better title for this, one that contains a few less apostrophes. since Bridgers parrot ate the apostrophe key it would probably be easier to just type it out every time.
We went on the coolest walk last night. It was probably a 3 mile walk, totally in the dark, through the fields and woods. We used the (now shut down) snowmobile trail. It was great fun. Can't wait to do that again. We would love to get cross country skis and try it that way. Bridger was…

I'm still here. Thank you wonderful friends who have sent me messages inquiring. Thank you :)
Vern is going on 2nd week of being laid off. Normally his boss would pay their health insurance through the winter, but we were told today that there are notes in the paychecks (when we get to town to pick it up) that there will be no more health insurance. So we are on a search, trying to figure out what to do. It has been a rare occasion for any of us to need to go to the doctor. I think…

I wasn't very focused today, as I should be on my raw. But I started out with a green smoothie, that didn't happen until about 11:30 though. Just was busy, with Vern being home (he is laid off this week) and him wanting to get firewood in before the predicted blizzard.
Was really hungry, and cold tonight. Bridger and I were in the old Jeep, and the heat went out in that. So was trying to drive through the woods with very limited vision because of the windows frosting over. Then it…

Well, much to my chagrin, didn't make it all of the way on this 30-day challenge. I think I had 3 or 4 days left, but caved today. I won't go into great detail, because that has always gotten my wheels spinning when I see what others' transgressions were(yes, I am weak, lol). I will spare you the details. Suffice it to say...I dont feel so good right now.
Just been a bit of a whirlwind the last few days, and little $$ or time or energy to spend on anything but getting this show…

Just wanted to post and say hi. I haven't fallen off the wagon, or boat, or horse...or anything. Just feverishly working on jewelry, display, stained glass, candles and prints for the craft fair this week-end. I'm not even sure if Vern is aware yet that he is going to be my helper at the craft fair on Saturday...teehhheeee ;)
Thanks Denise for checking up on me. Because of your concern and note, decided to take a break and made my favorite juice, granny cucumber celery. I think I…

It just figures. Most days I am not even usually hungry and feel I subsist mostly on juice, but today I woke up hungry. Started the morning out with my all-time favorite cucumber/granny smith/celery juice. After getting home from church made grapefruit juice. About 2 hours later, had a carrot and sweet potatoe juice. Then I caved about 3 hours later. My "juice feast" ended around 5-ish today when I remembered the fudge balls in the freezer that I had made last night. So I probably od'd on…

Work today went awesome. There was only about 2' of flats, and 5 trays of regular mail. In comparison, my average for regular mail is only 3 trays, but Monday and yesterday, there was seven and a half feet of 3rd class flats (flyers, catalogs...etc). I was back at the office at 2:00 and in the grocery store buying fresh goodies by 2:30. And it was sunny, and warm in the car.
Had a shot of wheatgrass for breakfast The fellow on route #1 wanted to know what…

I am pretty doggone lucky. My sister had Thanksgiving last night at her house. We are not a family that does fussy, or formal. So no one really noticed that I just sat in their living room and read a book while they were eating. And it was such a good book, really appropriate! It was by Max Lucado and something about letting go of the luggage we carry in life. I should have asked Tracey if I could borrow it.
Mom loved my raw cake that I brought. Tracey tried a bite. My nephew's…

And not much of a challenge at that, actually it has been a breeze! Love it.
Lots of uncooking going on today. I am making myself a raw extravaganza. In the dehydrator now are some of Alissa Cohen's Chick-Un Patties. I added a lot more spices, etc. than her recipe. It seemed quite bland. Also treating myself with a Banana Chocolate Cream Cake. I got this from a link off of Bitt's page, I believe, to another link, to another link...…

Well, wasn't going to do a blog tonight (nothing interesting goin' on). But here's a quickie. (or not, lol)
Started the morning off with church. Had a handfull of grapes and some clementines before church. Got home and got dishes going. Made the boys sauerbraten meatballs for their lunch. I juiced (or rather, had V do it for me) wheatgrass. I made Snowdrop's amazing...yes, it is AMAZING cheezy corn chowder, and really filled a much-needed void in my psyche. I warmed the bowl up. It…

Thanks to my RFR friends....I am feeling better today. Work was great. Had a ziploc baggie of clementines, and grapes. Raw cheez-its, some of my for lack of a better word....fruit (and veggie) leather....beets, raisins, raw cacao, honey, nuts....dehydrated cherries...dehydrated. It's like dessert. And downed a green smoothie for breakfast.
I haven't accomplished much since I've gotten home. Well, in some ways...in others I had great successes. Ran 5 miles on the treadmill, and had a…

What is this funk? Is this what they call "Raw Emotions?" Have been nearly in tears all day for just the littlest things. I woke up first thing and made wheatgrass juice (took a lot to get 1/4 cup, wow). I had two tablespoons, Vern had two tablespoons and said it was the worst stuff he's ever ingested. I thought it was good. Difference in taste buds. So I thought by starting out this way I would just have the best day ever, but it wasn't to be. It took me until 11:30 to finally get my green…

Wednesday
Today was a good raw day. Not outstanding really, in any way. But I didn't have to go anywhere or start the car at all and that is always a good day. I maintained 100% diet-wise. Started the morning out with a raw broccoli salad. I made it with the raw mayonnaise. I made it to impress Vern with the raw mayo, and I ended up being too impressed with it, and ate a bunch myself. He had his share tonight. And he really liked it. Hard to tell the mayo is raw. It was good. I'll be…
