Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!
If you were recommending a book to a friend of yours, in regards to beginning raw, what recipe book would you say? (Either an e-book or paperback.)
It seems like there are so many recipe books out there; it's hard to pick. And, for someone who's taste buds are new to raw, I'm just wondering if you might share one you'd suggest.
I originally posted this in Culinary; however, no one replied yet.
Being new to raw, I'm used to foods (cooked vegan) served at a higher temperature. I do not have a dehydrator to "warm" up foods, and I'm wondering for things such as a "pesto sauce" -- how do you personally eat that?
I've never heard this talked about... maybe it's a silly question. Forgive me, if so. But, for things like marinara/pesto, served over zucchini…Continue
Everyone seems to know this already, forgive me for what might seem like a silly question:
what is the gist on these oils?
Is one more recommended in the raw world vs. others? Have only ever tried flax seed (smoothies).
- I know to look for cold-pressed (meaning raw?)
- but, what is the difference essentially between these?
Looking to use as base for salad dressings.
Do you recommend it?
How do you use it?
Are there certain things to look for when buying it? (brand? source?)
Thank you for any tips or suggestions. I greatly appreciate it.
Can someone please recommend a good source for vegan capsules (ie, a multivitamin, B-12, etc.)?
I recently switched from the SAD diet (though, vegetarian) to vegan (cooked) and hear many benefits about 'vegan' -- and, have watched many dvd''s encouraging the vegan way. I love pasta/rice and could eat it plain all day. However, I am very interested in raw and trying to learn more.
What was is that you either heard of or personally experienced yourself that convinced you to do raw vs cooked vegan?
(Maybe it might be…Continue
When I saw bikram mentioned under a blog, I thought I'd restart one titled bikram so other people could maybe add in their experiences.
Thank you to the original post mentioning it.
Has anyone done consecutive days? What'd you think? Would you recommend?
I've only taken a few classes - nothing consecutive.
I only have used frozen fruit in smoothies and with much of the fruit still out of season, do you have any recommendations for making it seem "fresh"?
In other words, without microwaving/thawing and not putting in a smoothie...... how do you use frozen fruit?
(To try and have it replicate fresh?)
Sorry for what will seem like a silly question. Can kale chips be done "raw" without a dehydrator?
I was googling recipes yesterday, and the ones I found had temps of 350-400 degrees.
And, it seemed like a lot of olive oil and salt.
Is there a way to do them low fat and raw?
Obviously, a newbie question. :-)
Thanks so much
Can anyone suggest "beginner" green smoothies. I've been trying a few and even with adding apples or oranges/bananas - it still doesn't taste sweet enough. Way too green.
My taste buds are adjusting; but, does anyone have any "mini" green shakes to start with?
Thanks for reading. And, for any suggestions you might make.
I wasn't sure what to title this -- but, I'm looking for anything you might think is helpful in healing from depression. Is there an uplifting, empowering site/source/forum?
In brief, had it for years, off/on. Tried meds and counseling. Not very helpful. It's been very destructive to myself and family. Live very isolated, significant other has personality…Continue
Hope you are doing well! Any suggestions/ideas for celebrating New Year's? Traditionally, it's either been at a party or watching the countdown on tv.....
I'd like to get away from the commercialism of it and enjoy it in a more pure, loving way.
Please share any ideas for either couples or non-couples. Many thanks!!
Hope you are enjoying whatever holiday it might be that you celebrate!
Is there a good book on self-forgiveness that you could recommend?
P.S. - Should I have posted this under a different section?
Does anyone know in particular which green drinks Joe Cross did on his DVD journey (Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead)? Was it ever mentioned? I'm just curious.
Does anyone have experience with using volcanic ash on skin? I've heard it's detoxifying - but, am wondering if it's safe or if people have noticed it clogging pores?
Has anyone tried it? Thanks!
