No rigid rules, labels or dogmas.... just REAL food, for your body, mind & soul!
This is my 3rd or 4th juice feast in the last 5 years. I also was raw for about a year after my last feast. Hindsight is 20/20 and I have learned that you don't need to go off the rails completely when you do make a slight detour in your eating habits.
Now insert the age old story of getting married, being in love and then adopting quick and easy eating habits. Emotions will get you every time; be it hate or love. It…Continue
Ok, I stopped making excuses and I actually bought some all natural juice (the best juice I could find with no ingredients except plant ingredients) to augment my home made juice.
I'm back to eating natures little known and often overlooked packaged food products; otherwise know as plain old fruits and vegetables! ;)
I have to admit, my brain at least is 100% clearer in just one day. Also my intestines feel squeaky clean for some odd reason. Hahaha.... It was…Continue
It's actually been tough to stay raw since the fast ended over a week ago. I'm still eating vegetarian, but raw is another story entirely.
The biggest issue is that at the same time I came off the fast was coincidentally the same time most of the fruit disappeared from the store shelves. Of course there is every kind of apple you could ever want or need, but I'm basically all "apple'ed out" at the moment.
I know it's an excuse, because I need to get back to…
It's over now.
I've eaten an apple this morning and a grapefruit for lunch; and I'm completely stuffed by the way.
I'm green juicin primarily today, with some seaweed salad later tonight for dinner! Yum! No intestinal irritation to speak of because I took an hour to eat the apple and 30 minutes for the grapefruit.
For some reason two pieces of fruit was almost too delicious! :^) (38 days will do that to you I suppose.)
Saturday I have someone making me lasagna…Continue
Today is the last day! (Not over but it feels like it!)
After 38 days on my feast it's OVER!
I look forward to solid food, but I'm also kind of sad to see it end in a way. I believe I could have easily did 60 days, but I'm good with the goal I achieved.
I learned a great deal on this feast. For one never think you've settled into a grove because your body can cry out for different nutrients that you just so happen to not be supplying to it.
My advice is…Continue
I would say "piece of cake", "clear sailing" or "I got this covered", but I don't want to jinx myself again.
I had a stretch of hard days there for a while on this feast, but right now I'm cruising. I sort of would like to keep going, but I'm ready for solid food in two days. So on day 38 I'm breaking the fast.
One drawback to the fast was I have to go shopping for clothes now. (I know...awe, poor me huh?) Believe me, I've had worse problems so I won't complain. I…Continue
Day 30 is now been crossed off the calendar.
It’s been fairly easy the last week. I’ve been busy so that makes the day go by quicker. (I also met a girl and that always helps pass the time) ;-)
I’m still juicing and plan on quitting about day 37. Mainly because on day 40 I have a dinner date and I don’t want to sit there and sip water the whole time. I suppose it’s one of the better reasons to break your fast? I was only shooting for 30 days so I feel no sense of failure.…Continue
Days 22 and 23 have been eliminated!…Continue
Day 21 is in the rearview mirror.
Actually day 21 had some fairly tough parts to it.
I rode the bike at the gym for five miles and lifted weights 20 minutes. (I've not lifted weights since I started the feast.) I felt ok, but then it was like I ran a marathon driving home. I was exhausted. :-/
I got home and started drinking juice and then I started getting HUNGRY…I'm talking survivalist, give me a spear, some fire and animal tracks to follow kind…Continue
Day 20 has come and gone!
Not much to report. I've been drinking over a gallon of juice daily, yet I need to drink more water. :( It's easier at work because my routine is set, but the weekends seem tougher.
Ten days to 30...yet I may go longer! :)
Day 17 has been crossed off the page!
I can actually cook just about anything for my kids and feel no compulsion to taste anything at this point.
I'm in a complete Zen Raw Zone or what I like to refer to as a ZRZ (yeah, I'm copyrighting that acronym...but go ahead and use it royalty free for now.) lol...
When you're in ZRZ you look at juice in the way a baby cub looks at its lioness mother on the Serengeti; it's good and has everything…Continue
It's been a great experience so far. Still juicing that healing nectar.
I'm half way to the 30 days, it's all down hill now. (Famous last words...) :)
Have a great day.
Day 13 in the bag.
Today was actually a little tough at times. The weather changed to overcast and that may have something to do with the mood swings.
We have over a month of sunshine without clouds or rain and in the Puget Sound of Washington that's no small feat. It doesn't rain as much as the media lets on, but it does stay cloudy for months at times. That lack of the bright light in the sky took some getting use to; because I grew up in Northern California and then moved…Continue
I thought I'd rattle off a couple tips while I had a few minutes. These are more personal observations, so don't confuse me for an internet expert on raw food or juicers.
My experience is only based on my own usage (long before this recent fast) and in some cases just old fashioned horse sense. (I would have used the term "common sense", but I see no evidence that's a universally applied discipline.)
I've been raw for some time before attempting this recent fast and…Continue
Friday's breakfast and lunch on the 12th day of my juice feast. Everyday is a great day to reboot your life.
These colors do run. :)
Ten days in the bag! I'm now in double digits. Yeah baby!
I just have 20 more to go! Piece of cake... (Famous last words right?) Not much else to report.
Let the juice flow...
Here was my lunch and dinner before it entered my juicer.
It's supple yet so very vibrant.
A classic choice in any healthy diet.
(No burgers or fries were sacrificed in the making of this lunch or dinner.)…Continue
Day 9 is now history.
What can I say, still drinking a lot of juice and enjoying the ride.
For those of you feasting enjoy both what you're doing for your body and the what you're proving to yourself.
It's often not easy to be on the feast especially when doing it alone, but press on; you're really admire your own perseverance and tenacity in the end.
I raise my glass to all of you.
Now drink up that healing nectar!
Day 8 is now in the books...well almost.
I cooked burgers and made myself some very delicious and almost criminal batch of peach, watermelon, carrot and berry juice. It's like cheating while you're on a juice fast! LOL
Knowing that you're not going to eat for a while is almost comforting if you mentally accept your mission. The first days are really the hardest, but you can do it!
I've got lots of energy. I cleaned the yard, changed a power steering pump on my car,…Continue
