Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!
I have some crappy looking broccoli in my garden which is just laden with white fly...as in millions! I've tried loads of things to get rid of them but nothing seems to work. So I decided to try an experiment and just leave them be and hope that the pests would be attracted to the broccoli and leave the other plants alone....to a degree it seems to have worked.
Well, yesterday I was looking at said broccoli plants which were getting crappier and crappier as each day went by…Continue
When I've been eating beetroot it tends to tinge my wee a bit pinkinsh.....imagine my horror when at work the other day I glanced into the toilet bowl and saw that it was bright blue!!!
One of the cleaning staff had got a little carried away with blueing the loo!!!!!
Have a good one. Love Angela XXX
I'm not quite sure how to say who wrote this blog that's why it always says "me" : )
Well,I wrote about beetroot and got some wonderful replies. I have another problem......oranges. I've given bags and bags away. I've juiced, frozen juice, frozen whole oranges for later......can I do anything else with them? I don't really have that much space in my house.....in summertime when the tree is bare I shall be craving them!!!!
Thanks in anticipation once again : ) Love Angela…Continue
I seem to have an oversupply of beetroot.....not quite a glut but as I am the only one in the household who eats it I have a bit more than I can manage at the moment....and I don't want to waste any of it!
I have done some juicing but it's a bit on the strong side...and I'm told it's a bit powerful.....don't know if that means in the bowels department!
I read somewhere about a beetroot and chocolate cake (sounds decadent) but for the life of me I can't find a recipe. Can anyone…Continue
I just came across a blog written by a young couple in Wollongong (don't you just love thes Aussie names?) in New South Wales who have converted their suburban block into a food forest....and made their house "green."
It doesn't matter that it's in Australia ( it could be anywhere in the world) they are just so inspirational : )
Even if you aren't a gardener it's just nice to look at the pictures from how it evolved to how it is now.
I made some cauliflower popcorn with nutritional yeast....I like the cheesy taste of nutritional yeast so I made sure that the cauli was well covered : )
I was enjoying munching away when I felt my ears getting very hot and feeling like they were pulsating.
Then my hands turned very red and hot and the back of my neck...also itchy....I guess I must have been having some sort of reaction.....I don't feel ill just very warm.
I just googled to see what I could find...the…Continue
I did write a blog earlier but the title probably didn't convey what I needed to know.
Can anyone from Alaska suggest what I can make to take to work for our "International Food Day?"
Alaska is where my finger settled when the girls at work whirled the globe : )
Thanks in anticipation Angela XXX
We're having an "International Food Day" at work. They rotated the globe and I got to close my eyes and point....I got Alaska....what the heck am I going to make?
I'm the only Raw Vegan.....most of my work mates are heavily into meat so I need to impress! But I don't want to have to spend hours in the kitchen!
I don't even want them to realise it's raw.....unless I tell them : ) I don't care if it's sweet or savoury....I like sweet :…Continue
I was just listening to a talk by Brian Clements which was very interesting and informative and he said that the water of young coconuts was very hydrating etc (which we know if we've been here long enough) BUT he said to keep away from the meat and the coconut butter.....don't know why.
Now I'm very confused : (

Serendipity....according to my dictionary it means : the gift of making fortunate discoveries by accident from the fairy tale " The Three Princes of Serendip" in which the heroes possess this gift : ) How cool is that and what a lovely word. However I digress : )
I was soaking some flax seeds and being a bit on the idle side I kept procrastinating until the seeds had begun to sprout and in fact there was even some mould growing in the bowl : ( So of course I had to…Continue
I've been feeling very overwhelmed with everything just lately and it was getting me down.
I've been trying so hard to clean up my diet and was feeling quite good but the scales weren't in my favour so that added to the stress. Sooooo
1. I decided that I wasn't going to let the scales rule my life and affect my emotions any more, so I'm not in the Weight Room any more....that happened by accident, but I think that it probably was a good thing :…Continue
A long time ago I discovered juicing when I was following Sandra Cabot's Liver Cleansing Diet and I loved it. (probably shouldn't have written this but I have to give credit to the author)
I also discovered LSA linseed (flaxseeds) sunflower seeds and almonds ground up in a coffee grinder and sprinkled on to food...it's delicious!
It's a good source of protein, essential fatty acids minerals and fibre and is said to be an anti-aging mixture : )
3 cups linseeds…Continue
I thought I'd had a great week. I felt good, energy was great and I was more or less on track. Then I got on the b scales which I think are a bit dodgy at the best of times and I'd put on the two and a half pounds I'd taken off the week before!
Now in the great scheme of things two and a half pounds are neither here or there. BUT this morning this was the worst thing that could have happened to me. So I did my usual oil pulling then I was about to do my lemon water but no,I…Continue
Hello lovely people,
First of all I had a great surprise....I was looking back over the material from past innitiatives and discovered
that since "Falling into Raw" I've released thirteen pounds!!!! And believe me I've had some major challenges but I must be doing something right : ) WooHoo! My clothes do feel better and yes,I did think I'd lost some weight but not that much : ) and nobody has made any comments...oh yes,my doctor did without weighing me…Continue
There are two days in the week about which we should not worry - two days which should be kept from fear or apprehension. One of these days is "yesterday" with it's mistakes, cares aches, pains, faults and blunders. Yesterday has passed forever out of control. We cannot undo a single act we performed. We cannot erase a single word we said. Yesterday is gone forever. The other day we should not worry about is "tomorrow" with it's possible adversities and burdens it's…Continue
As I keep saying I'm pretty hopeless with computery things : ) Now I hope I'm not overstepping the mark here Penni so please forgive me but I do think this is an extrordinary time very different from normal.
I just received an email from Adoley Odunton (don't know much about her but I think she's well known in the US?) saying that there was going to be a Prayer Circle for Japan at 9.00am Pacific Time (don't even know what that is myself : )) on Saturday 19…Continue
Must have pressed the wrong button before I'd finished what I was going to say : (

Hope everyone in Japan is safe after these devastating earthquakes and tsunamis.
My son lives in Osaka so thank God he is miles away from this one.
Love and prayers to everyone affected not to mention the poor people of Christchurch NZ. You will all rebuild eventually and the cities will go on but the loss and hurt of deceased and injured loved ones will endure for a long time. Words just cannot express the feelings we all have for you but know that we are…Continue
