Ok so firstly, these 2 recipes I got from Rawmazing.
The first is of the Sun Dried Tomato Pumpkin Seed Pesto recipe. Honestly I loved the idea but just used some left over pesto that I had and put about a tablespoon and two sundried tomatoes on top of thick tomato slices with a balsamic vinaigrette (made with agave, not honey). I have listed the original recipe because it looks amazing, but my version of it was really good too.

VEGGIE KEBABS WITH BARBECUE SAUCE
MAKES 4 KEBABS
2 bell peppers, seeded
Another great recipe! So tonight I wanted to make a raw lasagna, but I wanted to try something new besides the regular one with a marinara sauce so what's just as good as a raw marinara? PESTO! So I threw together a raw lasagna with a pesto sauce and get this, my husband loved it!! That's right, my SAD eating hubby had 2 helpings, and that's something. So here's the recipe. I used whatever veggies I thought would go good together but feel free to add your own.
Serves 2-4 people (we…Continue
Ok, so I just tried this recipe and it was soooooooo good! I couldn't believe it! I was a HUGE sushi fan, and this really hit the spot and I was so pleasantly surprised and I just had to share this recipe with everyone!
1 parsnip, peeled and chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons scallions, minced
2 teaspoons minced ginger
1/4 tablespoon salt
So today was an interesting one. I bought a Thai baby coconut to make a mylkshake this morning... and it was an interesting experience. First I read how to open the coconut online and in my Ani Phyo book and I thought I had it down... and I was wrong. So first I shaved off the top husk and exposed the wood pointy part on top. Then I started to hit the top, like the book and online told me to (might I add), and NOTHING happened. Then I shucked the whole dang thing and tried tapping the top…Continue
Ok, so these last couple of days have been crazy busy! I've had so much work to do around the house and homework do that it's making my head hurt. As far as staying raw, I've been pretty good. I always have a raw part to all my meals, but I've been sneaking in convenience foods almost every meal (like frozen vegan foods, or non raw crackers and the such). I've noticed that the days that I'm not %100 raw are do to the lack of my preparedness. I just have to learn to manage my time a little…Continue
First, what I ate today. This morning I added blueberries and honey to my oatmeal and it was delicious! For lunch I had some Italian pate with raw crackers with some strawberries, and for dinner I made my leftovers from m moo shoo vegetable recipe.
I also wanted to say that I finally got my new Excalibur!!! I'm sooooo excited! I can't wait to start making stuff and warming things up! It's soooo nice looking. I feel like a kid at Christmas.
I also wanted to say…Continue
I wasn't really raw today. I only had a raw lunch of raw crackers and an Italian pate and a side of strawberries. I think it was because I didn't make stuff ahead of the time and didn't plan ahead. I'm a little disappointed in myself, but it's ok. I just have to keep positive and plan my next week.
Here's what's on the menu chez moi next week:
-Moo Shoo vegetables
-Vegetables and noodles in a red curry sauce
- Yellow curry and vegetables
So today went well as far as eating raw is concerned. For breakfast I had a raw cocoa crunch cereal with juiced greens and 1 green apple. For lunch I had some marinated spinach and a few raw crackers. For dinner I had the most amazing Moo Shoo Vegetables with Hoisin Sauce recipe by Ani Phyo. Seriously delicious! I also wanted to make some miso soup and this is where the title of my blog comes into play. I wanted to make a hot miso soup for my husband, and a warm one for me. I boiled some…Continue
So I'm starting to notice when I get headaches and fatigue. I usually get a headache around 11 or 12ish, and I think it's because I'm hungry. I've also noticed I feel really tired around 3, but wake up again after dinner, and then get tired again around 7-8ish... I think this has to do with needing energy or calories. I always feel better after I eat. I've also been noticing that I feel very alert and calm even when I am very tired. I haven't been able to go to sleep until 11 or so, but then…Continue
Today went well. I had the most delicious salad with pineapple and a lemongrass dressing. It was amazing! I also had a kind of spicy toast with a pineapple salsa, again AMAZING! I'm really looking forward to figuring out what was in the salad and how to make that dressing. I know it also had ginger, macadamia nuts, and scallions... if anyone knows a recipe that's similar, let me know!
Other than that I found that asian raw food recipes go over really well with the fam. I made…Continue
Well today was not a raw day, well not completely that is... but I knew it wouldn't be. There is a specific food that I like raw (mostly raw), and once a month my husband takes me out for lunch to go get it. It's one of the things we like to do together and something I don't think I could give up. I'm not discouraged though because it's our once in a month tradition. It's not even that unhealthy in moderation. I am thinking that maybe in the future I can try to make it raw and make a new…Continue
So day 8 went very well for me. I woke up and had a buckwheat cereal for breakfast, a salad with avocado dressing and 3 raw Italian crackers for lunch, and kelp noodles and cheese with a side of carrot clarity salad and marinated mushrooms for dinner. For me everything was delicious, and I especially liked the clarity salad and marinated mushrooms I had for dinner. Marinated mushrooms really are liked cooked mushrooms!!! However my hubby was not pleased at all at dinner. He really didn't…Continue
I can't believe it's day 7! It really doesn't feel like it to me. I'm so amazed and surprised at how easy this transition has been and I really hope that my motivation doesn't falter in the following weeks. I have found that making a large dinner and splitting it in two really helps me because I can take the second part for lunch the next day. I also have found that raw granola and fruit for breakfast has really been working for me to curb my hunger until lunch. I think I want to add a…Continue
Today went pretty well. I had the blueberry buckwheat granola for breakfast, my left over lasagna for lunch, Mexican sunflower pate with crackers for dinner, and a side of pineapple and honeydew melon for dessert. The only things that were not raw were the grilled eggplant, red bell pepper, and crackers. I'm really looking forward to making my own crackers once I get a new dehydrator... but for now I can't buy them because they are way to expensive, an I really don' want to crack open my…Continue
I did pretty well today. I ate a yummy chia seed cereal this morning with strawberry almond milk. It was really good! Then for lunch I had a raw pizza which kept me full all the way until dinner. For dinner I had to battle the hubby a little bit. He didn't want raw lasagna, but I planned on it and bought groceries for it so we came to a compromise. He wanted grilled eggplant and red pepper in it, and I conceded. I'm a little disappointed that I couldn't be completely raw today, but I only…Continue
Today I went to a restaurant with my husbands family. They didn't even have many vegan options let alone anything raw. They had a cranberry and walnut salad, but it came with chicken and feta cheese... I could have gotten it, but I didn't think it was worth it to even go out at that point because I could have made something way better, so I decided to get a veggie wrap with hummus. I know it wasn't raw, but it was my only non raw meal today. It was also substantially healthier than anything…Continue
First I wanted to say how I felt yesterday on day 2. I was cranky ALL day until I ended up going to a party (I'll talk more about that in a minute). I also felt a little dizzy. I think it was because I wasn't eating enough or something. I'm just trying to figure out what and when to eat. Oh, and I'm realizing that if I eat only raw, I don't feel like eating sweets anymore, which is awesome! Although I'm starting to crave salty and fatty foods which I'm going to have to figure out how to do…Continue
