Coming to the US!

Hi everyone,


Hope everyone has had an awesome Summer in the US. :)

So the reason for my post today - my family and i are coming to the US for a couple weeks in 3 weeks! I am just trying to sort out my raw strategy while there. In Australia there is very little raw pre-packaged stuff, basically you don't make it, you don't eat it. So i am pretty damn excited about the options in the US :)

Whats going on?

Hi everyone.


 I've kept my diet fairly even for a year now. raw all day, green juice  starts the day and about 75% of the time i eat a cooked meal with the family - generally stir frys sometimes a little fish always lots of veggies (the other times i just stay raw) .

International Raw food day - July 11th

Merry Christmas from Oz :)

Hi all, its christmas night here now in Australia, its hot here where i am, balmy really. Just thought i'd pop in and  wish everyone a merry christmas.

Yikes: uncooking workshop for newbies and kids?

Ok so i have several people interested in my lunches lately within my homeschooling community. Several mum have asked me for raw kid friendly ideas and even cooler the kids want me to show them stuff!

Juice: Juicer or Blender?

Hiya all,

Tonight is just a quick question from me to get peoples thoughts. I am still doing a mix of juices and smoothies but i really much prefer my juices.

I have a very cheap old black and decker centrifugal juicer and i have a blender. I used my juicer a couple of times but it is hard to take apart and clean especially compared rinsing a blender jug and a nut milk bag. My days with no blender

Many of you know - my blender died. The last couple days have been a revelation!

Without my morning 1 ltr of juice or smoothie everything fell over so quickly it was rather shocking LOL.

Ahhhh my blender died!

Ahhh no! my blender died.

Admittedly it was a 60 year old blender from my grandmother that i had used daily for raw food prep for a year including daily ltrs of green juice. It was a great old one with a real heavy glass jug and a heavy base etc. May it RIP :)

Coconuts, Coconuts - what to do?

Hiya all,

Soo i am totally loving coconut water. For some reason my local fruit market has young coconuts for $2 each so im using up about 4 week. I am putting the water into my daily smoothies and juices. The kids also love the water.

How does it work together?

For those not 100% raw how do you work your raw and cooked food diets together optimally?

I have read a few things but they often contridict each other: have 50% of each meal raw (so mixthe raw and cooked)

eat the raw portion of each meal first.

Others suggest eat a raw meal or a cooked meal but don't mix them.

Eat raw earlier in the day and cooked at night

I'm not sure if there is a more optimal way but i'd really like to get any thoughts… Continue

Becoming Raw -finding optimal balance

I have just started reading Becoming Raw by Brenda Davis, Vesanto Melina and Rynn Berry. I got it because i have been doing a raw lifestyle for several months now and i thought if i am gonna keep exploring it i should get a good understanding for balancing my diet and making sure its a healthy long term choice. What to cut out first?

Hmm this is a question i've been pondering. If you are not aiming to go 100% raw, if you are still early transitioning to whatever your goal is, what do people think are the most important things to focus on removing from your diet? (i mean health wise not for ethical reasons :)) - and why?

My 5 yr old has just been un-cooking in the kitchen! She brought me a banana and madarin kebab and told me she has a raw ice-cream in the freezer - mashed banana, some young coconut meat, no sweetene…

She brought me a banana and madarin kebab and told me she has a raw ice-cream in the freezer - mashed banana, some young coconut meat, no sweetener (not even agave apparently) and the unique ingredient - raw purple cabbage! LOL :) should be an interesting taste testing tomorrow.

In other news am pretty impressed with green smoothies! (as opposed to green juice). They are finding a way into my daily life really…
