Starting off the new year, its been good, but could have been better.
I've started exercising, but my food intake has not been as pure as I would like.

Today in history, 14 years ago, I was going for a normal (18 week) ultrasound with my 3rd child. To find out our baby had died.

I went to a new dr. to treat my thyroid. She is also part of a weightloss program or clinic. I didn't know when I made the appointment that I was signing in with someone who was part of a "diet" plan.
Anyway, long story short, I like her, BUT, I don't like her diet program. She put me on a low-carb (no sugar) high protein diet. There are some things I will eat on occasion (I won't mention) BUT NOT EVERY DAY!

I am really struggling with a few ideas. I like the way it sounds to "flush the fat" out of my body by eating more cleansing fruits, etc....like 80-10-10. Even though I've never read the book (can't afford to buy it and can't find it in the library) I get the idea that it's LOTS of fruit and little fat/veggies.

Do you ever feel like you have so much information in your head, you don't know which way to turn? I am feeling that way.

Today is the first day I have been able to exercise and totally have stuck to my guns with raw foods!
I know that healing is coming my way. I am looking forward to seeing changes, but mostly FEELING the changes!

I guess I am an all or nothing kinda person. I admire so much the kind of people who can do "75%" raw, feel great...go on living and never think twice.
If I try to stay "high raw", I tend to slip, and crash.....and burn.

RAW IS IN ME.
This is what I've become. I tried to focus on what everyone else recommended for me to eat while doing this hardcore workout. First week down and I am feeling great. I am totally craving greens and almonds. Not sure why, except I KNOW I'm not getting enough raw veggies or enough raw anything in my diet lately. I have totally been focused on getting protein. I am exhausted today, but that's from getting up at 4:30 to get my workout started by 5, because I had to get to work early today. Loving Tony Horton and his workout style! I have followed and tried so many other fitness women....hated their speech, either too whiny or toooo butch (sorry for the term) but Tony seems to be "gym rat" "not excuses" but not in a hateful way, just do your personal best.
Today was tough. I made it through....but didn't do each exercise as long as the pros did, but feel great. Muscles are sore...feeling great!

I woke up this morning, ready to "go". I am starting a new chapter in my journey. With DH, we are doing P90x starting tomorrow. I have researched as much as I possibly have time to. I am worried about getting enough calories and protein on strictly 100% raw foods. I am adding, temporarily, to my diet: greek yogurt, and tofu. I am slightly worried about the tofu, but I bought organic, so....I'm gonna feel good about using it.

Starting on a 40 day Lenten Fast. I have just come off of a 40 day liquid fast. I have felt though that my diet is already slipping, so..... for me, it seems to work to think of myself as fasting for healing.
Today's food:
berry/chia/coconut smoothie
raw chili from Rawvolution with leftovers for dinner.
Making sure I am drinking half my body weight in ounces of water.

I am getting excited to be near the end of my fast. My partner's last day is tomorrow. Her goal was 30 days. I started this journey with 10 days in mind, and God quickly intervened. I've been on this fast, and I'm doing great.
Here's the problem:
I am getting burned out on frozen smoothies for breakfast. I guess for breakfast I am going to have to start just juicing. I would love to hear some EASY favorites that don't require frozen berries/fruit.

I haven't had time to post or even get online this last week, but I wanted to jump on this morning and write about the last week.
I had a very close friend who is in a health crisis and wanted to start a juice fast (after watching, "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead"). After talking with her on the phone, I decided I would do a 10 day liquid fast with her. I told her that I could not do juice only, but agreed...even in my own heart that IT IS TIME TO MAKE A CHANGE.
