Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!
I have been doing pretty well lately. I get up every morning and go to the gym from 5=6 and I drink green smoothies for lunch and breakfast and a huge salad for supper. Occasionally I will eat things like special foods for events that are not raw but I am pretty picky and usually do not eat very much at all.
Yesterday I went to a restaurant with my children. I usually just have tea or water and was planning that since I had a huge green smoothie right before I left. My…

So excited- I brought a raw dessert to 2 different Thanksgiving meals and everyone loved them.. I made a jumble berry upside down cake ( Jennifer Cornbleet's recipe) and then I just make an cinnamon apple upside down cake using the same idea- It was so easy and so quick- I couldn't use the food processor because of a missing piece so I made the crust in my blentec- nuts, coconut and date-Itprobably was a little more processed than it should have been but no one…

Just recovering from a bout of pneumonia! Not fun- after the meds are gone, I want to really start focusing on getting my lungs and breathing completely healed. I googled and found that making sure to get enough potassium is good and that carrot juice, ginger and garlic are all good things for the lungs- I am taking lots of the recommended herbs, lobelia, licorice, ALJ, nettles, ginseng.
Just wondering if anyone has more suggestions of things that have helped you to strengthen and…

My children's dad came by yesterday and he has been juice fasting with wheatgrass for about 3 weeks now. He does juicing and then eats raw food for a couple of days, then starts the cycle up again. He is doing it because of trouble with his gums despite thousands of dollars ----- so far ----- in dental bills
He looks great and seems to feel great- really having no problems with driving or working.
Anyway, to cut to the chase of it-
I was a little…

Tonight my best friend is FORCING ME to go with her to a wine club at a winery. It is a beautiful place run by a family who homeschools and who does all the work themselves. I am kind of excited. She is going with her online boyfriend (* 5th date) and I REALLY did not want to go but she told me to trust her and that I would have a good time.
I can't really drink very much at all- 1/4 cup of wine gets me drunk! So it will be a challenge to drink lots of water in between…

I am not recommending this book however, it does have a few points that I would like to throw out there for discussion.
This guy says that everyone can have toned arms. It is a matter of exercise and of loosing weight. He says that women really cannot get super big arms unless they are taking steroids. He says to work out with heavier weights and less reps rather than the traditional of lots of reps and low weights.
So anyway, just wanted to throw that out…

Next week I am going to try to change my eating schedule from huge smoothie breakfast, huge smoothie lunch and heavier dinner. . My heavy meal has been my evening meal but I want to change it to my lunch time and then just a smoothie for lunch. Part of this is because my schedule is changing. I will be working from 8 to 3 without a lunch break. Apparently my 3 little students have trouble getting along with others during lunch so I have become indispensable. My daughter says this is a…

Does anyone have any motivation or inspiration for making meals for non raw family? I am content to eat simple salads, smoothies--------------however I have a 16 year old son who is an athlete and he can eat a bunch. I used to like to cook but now I just get more and more confused when trying to plan meals for him. I would be happy to take him to an all you can eat restaurant every night! He only really eats one meal a day at home- a big dinner. I just need some motivation. I am used…

I went to the dentist last Thursday and had local antisthetic to check on my temporary cap and get fitted for a permanent one. I was in the chair for 1 hour and 30 minutes. I did get a little stressed out!
WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLL- after that I have been sick for 3 days. Sick to my stomach, a bad headache, feeling dizzy every 5 minutes or so.
The only thing I could face was applesauce and juice- finally had some oatmeal yesterday Even thinking of a green smoothie made my…

I work at a preschool and I have just realized that 3 of the ladies are drama queens. They are the ones who have worked there the longest and they are very close.
My problem is this: when I am dealing with child who is having problems with behavior, often times one of them will come over and start screaming at the child " You better listen to Ms. Debbie" yada yada yada Of course I am fine with dealing with the child and really do not need backup for a dealing with a 3…

Every week at my work, we do a community lunch..... which becomes a 2 hour staff meeting. I hate it!!!!!! Sometimes, we all bring something to contribute and one person makes a main course from all our donations, and other times, we just all bring something.
I so much hate this!. I do not enjoy eating with the others at all. I don't want to call attention to myself so I usually just eat whatever they have. I don't want to make a big statement and say, Hello people I am a raw…

I am going so slow at cleaning my house! When I clean, I rearrange everything so it makes a huge mess and then finally everything gets back into place. There is so much more room now!
After a day and half, I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
From now on, it is Fly Lady tasks- little by little everyday!…

Off to basketball tournament for my son. While I am waiting for the next game, I like to go try on clothes.
Almost 2 years into the raw food diet, and I am shocked that size 12 pants are loose on me. 2 years ago, I was trying to squeeze into the size 16 stretchy jeans- I confess I have gotten 5 new pairs of jeans since Christmas. I just can't get over it!
Go raw food,,,,,, yeah!!!!…

Here I am with my children almost all grown- I have one left at home - a 16 year old. As I look back on all the time I have spent with my family, and my ex husband- one thing really stands out. Getting angry is just not worth it!- well let me rephrase that, getting angry can sometimes be worth it, but only if it spurs you forward to make changes in yourself.
When we make changes to our diet, we want everyone to get…

Almost 2 years ago, I could barely walk and it took me 5 minutes to get out of the car. My friends teased me because I was literally walking crooked!
With some help from a very strange kinesiologist and a couple of chiropractors, some herbal tinctures for my adrenals and alot of prayer! finallyI was able to get back.
Then just a few days ago, it started happening again. I went immediately to the chiropractor. He did electro therapy, and had me on a…
