Still feeling great and holding (happily) at 90%+ raw

That's really what I  want to share....

I've gone out to dinner several times without even being tempted to order the food I would have wanted in the past. Instead, I've gone with a big salad and been totally happy. I'm SO glad to be free of cravings for food that I know is not good for me. I seem to be totally satisfied by eating healthy alternatives....amazing! My weight is slowly going down without any hunger or feeling of deprivation.

Rawgust has ended.....I made it!

I am amazed and very thankful that I made it through a whole month of being raw. It was a life changing month in many ways.

  • I have lots of energy.
  • I'm about 10 lbs lighter
  • I have learned to appreciate green juices because my body loves them. I'll continue to have them every day...I used to avoid drinking anything green at all costs...I still don't like the way it looks but it does taste good.

Day 24 raw

Just got back from another work trip. This time the motel fridge didn't freeze my fruits and veggies like last time because there was NO fridge :-(

Fortunately, my cooler kept everything cold until I was at work and could put everything in the fridge there. It all worked out in the end and I'm still raw but need to make sure I eat enough when I'm away from home and faced with unexpected adversity. It's all too easy to just not eat. Thank God for salad bars in most groceries. Whenever…

Day 21

Many thanks for the positive comments! I'm still doing pretty well. This morning I had muesli from Jennifer Conbleet's Raw Food Made Easy. It has rolled oats in it which, as I understand it, are not really raw but, because of my newly discovered cholesterol issues, I think I would like to include oats in my diet.



Would love to get any input from other RFR's who have hypothyroid and high cholesterol issues. Raw tomato "tortilla" soup for lunch. YUM!!! Juice and raw snacks in between.… Continue

day 18 raw?

I went out to dinner last night and ordered a chopped salad....the best choice on the menu for someone on a raw diet. As it turned out there were a few non-raw items in it but I think I avoided most of them. I'm trying to let go of my negative perfectionist self criticism which says:

"You dummy...I think you just ate a cooked vegetable, you have failed, you won't change, just give up and go back to your SAD. The maple syrup you used to sweeten the raw…

Day 15 raw

I have onion bread, almond cookies and flax crackers in the dehydrator, 2 salads in the fridge and enough fruit to last until tomorrow. I made a banana pineapple spinach smoothie for breakfast, raw tabouli for lunch/dinner and have had lots of good raw snacks whenever I'm hungry.

I'm not sure what clicked and how I've managed 15 raw days but I feel better rather than deprived. No heartburn, sleeping well, and more energy. I have a little time off from my crazy travel schedule so I…

Day 11 Raw

Today's juice (romaine, spinach strawberries, banana, goji berries and a scoop of green food) is not so pretty but is hitting the spot, Just made an awesome guacamole and put fresh from the cob corn in it. It was delicious in a romaine roll-up. Feeling much better.

Day 10 raw....

I'm back home. Still raw. The motel fridge froze my almond milk and all my veggies, fruits and dips. Great!!! The good news is my fruit and veggies still juiced, my salad dressing survived and there were lots of good salad bars around. Made it through some big temptations easily but now that I'm home I am craving SAD food especially cheese and rice. I'm hoping it'll pass.

day 5 raw

So far I've made it through a weekend of company (yep, still raw). Everyone thought the raw food was great. I made a few things for non-raw friends but the best part was that the raw foods came out on top. High Raw Life Michelle's "Peanut" dipping sauce made a big hit ...I hardly had to wash the dish!!! I also served raw banana ice cream with raw chocolate sauce and a raw sunflower onion dip that got rave reviews.
