Adding LIFE to your years and years to your life!
It’s that time of year again! As some of you already know, my most favorite flower is the tulip! And every year, I make a post dedicated to this particular blossom because it is just so beautiful and I want to share it!
Seriously though, when is the last time you went and played with the flowers? If you aren’t sure or you have to think about it then maybe it is time for you to do just that! Flowers are such friendly little things! And they LOVE it when you dance with…Continue
I've been stressed about money recently because since we moved my access to reliable childcare has gone down so I haven't been working enough. Several people I know are also dealing with financial crises so that is adding to the ambient fear around financial stuff.
Part of me knows that this is just part of a global shift and correction because the money system has to change if we want to be on the path to sustainability, and that money is energy and I can work on myself to change…Continue
The day was sunny and bright, the land was circled with canopies, all ready to share their wares on Earth Day. A day of promise.
I stood beside the van, awaiting opening time, as I had long anticipated some lovely raw food. They are a cafe in our state but a long drive away. Today they brought the bus filled with goodies.
As it naturally happens, another woman was waiting for the goods. Not sure how, but almost instantly I was being asked to identify myself with a label. Drat I…Continue

I very much appreciate a day being set aside to celebrate and help heal the earth. I know this earth day post is a couple of days late, but honestly, that works out perfectly for me. You see, to me every, single day is earth day. I am sure you have heard people (including me) say that about different days here and there but I promise you that I genuinely mean this!
I really, truly do at…Continue
I haven't blogged in a while but thought I'd make a little list of good things in my life related to raw food and health:
1. It's spring...the time when I can start eating green things I pick again! Yay! The farmer's markets start being outside again and we can hang out at the park comfortably!
2. I have finally started doing some intentional exercise on a regular basis, which is yoga at home. I am pleased that I have been managing to do it almost everyday…Continue

Well I just feel delighted today. I thought my breakfast was small but for some reason it was very energizing, so I'm going to list it:
A little under 2 cups of vitamix blended soup consisting of--steamed broccoli stalk base (none of the florets--I ate all those, but I hate those darn stalks on their own so I use them in soups!!), 1 small turmeric root (could it be where the energy is from?) that dyed my vitamix, hopefully not permanently, yellow, 1/2 a small lime, 3/4's of a 1/2 of…Continue
Skin is brighter and clearer than ever, except where my shea moisture leave-in conditioner touched my skin when I was using it for a couple of days. I hope I can give it away as it's got great ingredients--kind of a bummer that I'm having such a bad reaction to it. I didn't even know it was possible for my skin to get the kind of acne that my face got after using the lotion. Truly horrible, I think my skin right there may be ruined permanently >.< Hopefully not. It's going away…Continue

This wrap is really simple, delicious and highly nutritious! If I listed out all of the nutrients and benefits you are getting from it, this post would be eight feet long. That said, I will just highlight a couple of things ~ healthy omega 3 and 6 fats from the avocado, protein from the chard and the avocado, heavy metal detoxification from the cilantro, digestive promotion from the dill and pretty much all of the vitamins and minerals that exist from all of it! Plus, it is all…Continue

Standing here in front of me, broken as you think you are.
A bird who doesn’t know they can fly.
I haven’t healed all of my imperfections yet, you say. I still need to grow.
What you don’t realize is that I already see you. I know who you are.
Your eyes shine so brightly.
Your heart literally glows.
You don’t always see your own potential. Or know all the great things you will be.
But I do.
And I couldn’t love…Continue
Went to the doctor and my doctor is on my side. She thought everything I was saying was totally logical and balanced, and she supports my decision to do this dietary lifestyle. So relieved and so happy.
I told her that I'm fine with taking humira if it comes down to me not being able to heal from this diet, but I am young and resilient at 23 years old, and I'm fine with trying the diet alone for 3-4 months just to see if I'll improve. If I don't see any noticable…Continue
Things since my last entry have been much better--not perfect, but definitely better. My boyfriend and I had a long talk (I wish it could be all the things I imagine when I think of, "long talk," but we don't seem capable), and I feel like I finally got through to him and we came to some sort of resolution. He hasn't been bothering me in mornings about what to remember since. He's asked maybe one question, and it was relevant because we have the constant threat of snow-storms canceling…Continue

I felt like such a survivor after school yesterday. I had made it and I actually managed to pay attention in my night statistics class!!! I was so exhausted, and yet when I got in the car I had this enormous inner-peace that I couldn't ignore. And I say that because I'm pretty skeptical about that sort of thing, and usually take it with a grain of salt when people tell me about that sort of thing. I think I was just so, so worn down that my body physically lost the energy to become…Continue
Just wanted to share these photos. I'm new on here and am inspired to lose 84 pounds! I ballooned up to 252! I was 166! My inspiration came from watching Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. I blogged about my inspiration and what got me started.
On my blog you can also see my posts with my blood lab work results, as I raised my good cholesterol 30 points and my 'bad' is so good that the doctor said I am…Continue
It's going to make me feel light and healthy, and does....but unfortunately thanks to two huge textbooks and a big ol' binder, my big old smoothie in a jar and my big bottle of water were all the rest I could carry today.... I was so sore that I just couldn't pack more because I wouldn't be able to carry it. Literally have been struggling to carry this stuff all day and I already finished the smoothie and most of the water. I think I might have to invest in some sort of wheely luggage case…Continue
