Motivation/What I'm Eating/How I'm Fixing Things/Ulcerative P. Lists

So I am thinking I am going to make a list of foods that irritate my ulcerative proctitis and keep adding to the list as I find out what seems to make it flareup and what seems to be okay to eat.

List of UP Aggravations.

Number 1.  Had almost instantaneous flareups after eating corn.  It was both organic and cooked, which is said to be easier to digest than raw.  Oh well.

List of UP Okays.

Number 1. Bananas,…

There is no way, but been feeling dehydrated! Why?

I drink a lot of liquid. I drink

32oz lemon or lime water when I wake up

32oz chia water

32 oz green juice

and then I usually have a plain 32 oz water, plus an herbal tea or something.

This is well over half my body weight in liquids. I wonder if I am missing something that is causing me to feel dehydrated? OH, I also feel bloated and like the liquid is just sitting ON top of my stomach when I first drink it. Any suggestions helpful!  :)

Chia Seeds: Another Raw Adventure

Ever the gastronomically curious, I wanted to try using chia seeds. It took me awhile to find some but it did happen.

Inspired by a video by Mimi Kirk I made the following…

Kefir coffee replacement experiment #1

I have been experimenting with some tonics. I have some powdered herbs that I have used for years and years (well, not the same batch..) But I have been wanting to look at some new ways to use them, and to use some of the newer things that I am learning about.

I also have been trying to find different ways to use kefir. I am…

Chocolate Chia Shake!

Hello my friends! Taking a breather from home improvement projects to whip up a tasty shake!  This shake is a tasty chocolate monstrosity that features the omega 3 laden, intestine cleansing and protein rich goodness that is chia.  When these wonderful seeds aren't adorning terracotta craniums they are bringing an amazing texture to many a raw dessert and a really awesome thickness to this chocolatey shake!

Keeping it simple ~ keeping it fresh :)

I've been learning a lot about my myself and my body during this initiative  :)

Quite simply ~ I really like to keep it simple! It seems that's what my body likes best now, it has ever since I started eating a high raw diet last year. It's done me a world of good and I've never felt better. So for me ~ simple works...

I love my green smoothies ~ they're delicious ~ I never tire of them :)

I've been making some beautiful spring green salads with fruits and nuts &…

Recipes for two of my meals today

Breakfast was quite good, but lunch and dinner were VERY good, and memorable.

Both of these recipes feature a fruit called a Buddha's hand. I invite readers who are unfamiliar with this fruit to research it on the Web. Wikipedia offers a pretty good article telling us all about it. I saw one in Whole Foods a couple of weeks ago, came home and researched it, and determined to buy and consume a Buddha's hand at the next opportunity - which unexpectedly came my way this past…

Cha Cha Cha Chia!!

(from my blog....)

If you were around at all during the 80’s you remember the commercials for this silly looking terracotta figurine that once slathered with seeds and watered grew into a fuzzy green hairy…

Raw cereal alternative.

I am sure all of you guys already know about this, but I just discovered Chia Goodness! I have been struggling with my cereal addiction. I don't crave ice cream, cookies, or cake, just cereal and oatmeal! As long as I get gluten-free oats I feel like I can transition it out of my diet at a later date, but the cereal, even though it's Kashi, is really pretty nasty. Especially due to the fact that I have celiac and gluten makes me very sick.

I tried the chocolate flavor of…

happy days

Hey everyone!

I am just so happy today! A lot of things are going my way. It's nice when that happens, especially when you struggle physically most of the time. Physically, I am still having some pain but it is not debilitating and I am managing it.

I had a good weekend, met up with some friends from here and other places. More details on that to come.

Been eating a lot of chia lately. It's interesting because my naturopath thinks I need to be having more… Continue
