family therapy revelations, thoughts

It's a gorgeous sunny Spring day today. The slushy showers we kept getting on and off yesterday are in the past and today it's just all yellow and birds chirping!! I am ready for more days like this, but I'm still clinging a bit to winter because I've been hearing all of these dreadful things about an impending drought. >.< The beauty of today though is that we almost all have plumbing and hoses and we can still have beautiful, thirst-quenched gardens even in the mist of a bone dry… Continue

Updates

I spent the day at the beach. I finally had the energy to figure out how to make my schedule give me one day off. Otherwise, I work 7 days a week. My brain, my body has been going non stop for 4 months.

In the past week, I made a juice, and my body loved it. When I bought organic produce and made smoothies, my body loved it.

When  I ate salad, my body loved that. I can feel when my body craves salads.

I still struggle with having enough money and emotional…

Happy Earth Day – Let’s Spread LOVE

I very much appreciate a day being set aside to celebrate and help heal the earth.  I know this earth day post is a couple of days late, but honestly, that works out perfectly for me.  You see, to me every, single day is earth day.  I am sure you have heard people (including me) say that about different days here and there but I promise you that I genuinely mean this!   :)

New Raw Book

So I bought this book called Rawmazing by Powers... and the recipes look delicious! I am going to incorporate them into my diet.  Its filled with great looking pics of the food, so I am going to ask the family *which* recipe they are willing to try this week :) > um although I have been on a health food journey, up and down, for about a year and a half, my family has not really followed suit. They would benefit from being open to trying some raw food :) And I will feel much more supported…

Grateful

It's a dull, drizzly day outside and nice and cozy inside.  A slow day for me as my energy is still hibernating I guess.  Doesn't it know that spring is finally here?!  The past two days were just lovely and we walked and I sat in the sun and read and looked up into the brilliant blue sky lots and so enjoyed the warm sun on my face.  I love nature.  It moves me as does music and dance, good food, company and art.  I am in a writing mood today.

Yesterday I cried.  This is something I…

Beautiful Man, not for me

So I had finally gotten up the guts to ask this beautiful man over for dinner.... it only took me 8 months!

He said yes, but has been giving me random excuses whenever I pick a date.  I'm so dissapointed because of course the rejection sucks.  I know that people appreciate me for me, and that just because this beautiful man isn't for me doesn't mean that I'm any less of a person.... but tell it to my heart.

With the full moon and partial lunar eclipse  approaching I…

Food today, and learning patience.

Just had a bowl of chopped apple, banana and blueberries for breakfast, sprinkled with cinnamon, a few walnuts and served with cold home-made almond milk. Yum.

For lunch, I'll take a couple of small flasks of my standby smoothie (juiced pineapple, lime, greens, blended with avo) as I'm going to be out all day and running around.

Dinner tonight will be that lovely-looking Eastern Dragon Salad recipe that Penni posted.

I'm back on raw after a week of bad stuff. Why do I…

A Little List

I haven't blogged in a while but thought I'd make a little list of good things in my life related to raw food and health:

1. It's spring...the time when I can start eating green things I pick again!  Yay!  The farmer's markets start being outside again and we can hang out at the park comfortably!

2. I have finally started doing some intentional exercise on a regular basis, which is yoga at home.  I am pleased that I have been managing to do it almost everyday…

Painless menstruation due to raw food

I've only been eating 60-80% raw for the past 1 and 1/2 weeks (I'm a beginner and still trying to transition), and boy, there is already a significant change in my body's responses. I have always experienced terrible PMS and dysmenorrhea to the point of not being able to go to school and work for 2 days. I've consulted OB-Gynes but they all said it's normal. There was even one who prescribed painkilers to me that made it difficult for me to breathe and made me vomit. I've already come to…

Homemade Toothpaste

Last night I decided to get cracking in the kitchen.  I've been avoiding recipes this year and just using my intuition and experience over the years to create some really magical things.  It is only scary when I have company, but so far everything I've made has tasted amazing!  Best Ever!

So last night I didn't have food to make, but was out of deodorant so whipped out the supplies to make more, and decided to try and make some natural toothpaste too!  It totally worked…

Hearing and Seeing Beauty in the Everyday Life!

A musician came across this photograph of birds on a wire and read it as music, transcribing each "note" to create a tune.

quick updates

Bf's mom went home from hospital, but with what she has we're still not sure whether that's a good thing.  Hope so.

Feeling pretty healthy and great today so I wanted to quickly write down what I've eaten!!!  I just feel very energized and ready to do a lot.  I think part of it could be because I put my hair up.  Who would have known having messy long hair can be such a weight.  Maybe my hair up in a bun reminds me of when I was taking ballet classes for a few years as…

Emotional eating problem

I wrote this after watching one of the youtube videos shared here on how to cure emotional eating.

It can be solved. Change exists.

The problem with me is that more often than not when I encounter a certain situation, I feel that I'm powerless over that and there's nothing I can or anyone can do to change it. Because of that I turn to things that are soothing for me like food, makeup, and books. Oh and when I was a lot weaker I used to go to the salon too everytime I…

My Thoughts on Depression/Despair, Updates on Relationships, Family, Etc. :)

Although I usually feel so convicted with what I'm writing (but still balanced, if that makes sense. Convicted in my balance and convicted that I can accept being wrong) as I write my blogs, I am often so shy that it takes me a while to work up the courage to look at my comments (being honest here. I've never admitted that before!!! I don't know if I really put that together in my head either till just now.). I finally looked at the entry about my boyfriend's mom and was so pleasantly… Continue

Roasted Dandelion Root Tea

I just want to say that I tried my first dandelion tea about 2 weeks ago, and I'm now almost through my first box!!!  Love this stuff!

First I tried it with honey... good,

then with a little almond milk too... good,

finally I just had it black.... BEST!

If you haven't tried this tea, go get some and try it out. YUM!

The most beautiful man

So I buy my greens from a farmer in my neighbourhood, and he is seriously the most beautiful man I have ever met.  Last night I helped him plant some more seeds, and we sang to them to help them grow.  I finally got the guts up to ask him over for dinner, and I can't wait for that to happen.  He said yes but I haven't picked a date yet.

What I'm struggling with, is my broken heart still.  I'm completly over my last relationship with regards to the person, but I'm still…
